I have a very effective Krait Mk II scout killer but now I want to try Interceptor combat. I have built the anti-xeno initiative recommended Chieftan. The ship is fully engineered but I have not added any weapons yet. I have a few questions. First, are the modified Class 2 gauss cannons available in the Mbooni system the best current weapon to use on interceptors? Are these cannons considered the Salvation God mode augmented weapons I have read about on the boards? Second, with all the recent CG's offering improved anti Thargoid weapons would you recommend holding off arming my Chieftan until I see what new weapons come out? I would hate to waste the mats to acquire 2 class 2 and 2 class 1modified gauss cannons if something better shows up in a few weeks.

The original gauss, modified plasma chargers and modified shards are considered the better weapons. Be aware that all the modified weapons require mats PER WEAPON so if you're not keen on grinding guardian stuff then more simply unlock the original weapons and in which case go for the original gauss.
