One more question (hopefully?)

I do not see a save button and do not want to lose all the info I put in.
How do I make sure what I entered is saved?
Thanks for the help and for the contribution to the community!

I always felt like the crowd sourced one did indeed take a bit of the adventuresome spirit out of the game. That being said it worked so well that I couldn't go back after trying it. Thanks for this though, I will definitely use it.

Well I tried the side monitor only to find that the mouse cursor is trapped in the game which means I have to exit the game to use the log ---- I'm searching for a workaround if anyone has a fix for this please post. I do have an old laptop , but it is 32 bit so captains log won't work on it

Change the game to a "borderless" window in the graphic options, you can then move the mouse between screens.

Yeah I'm still trying to decide the best way to go about doing this. Lots of people how custom commodity data files where they've added it themselves (really is trivial) as well as other rare commodities. I don't want to overwrite their stuff with a release. I'll probably end up having totally different data file, like, default_commodities.txt or something that will be read if you don't already have a commodities_data.txt file. Renaming commodities to the right name is tricky as well because the save file has to be updated along with it.

How about feature to rename the commodities within the application? This would then need to go through all the stations and rename the commodity.

e.g. you spelt "Personal Armour" without the U in "armour", and since this is a UK game, it should be there especially when Reactive Armour is correct :)

Just edit "commodities_data.txt" however you like.

Atmospheric processors, and Imperial slaves were missing...

Hey all.

Cmdr's Log v1.3 32-BIT VERSION IS OUT

For those of you that were needing the 32 bit version of the app, I put it up. The first post is updated with a link to it at the very bottom.

Enjoy!

Unreal... I just gota negative rep for this...... whaaaaaaaaaaaaat.....?

Yeah there's some strange people about who will neg you just for having a different opinion to theirs. Have a +1 to make up for it.

You can add new items or change the order all you like but be aware that if you change an EXISTING item in commodities_data.txt (eg: reactive armour to reactive armor) you must change every instance of it in system_data.txt too.

Great tool. Just tried it entering the real data from about 10 stations and I love it.
Unfortenately I can not use it without the price column. Until that is implemented, I will go back to my spreadsheet.

Yeah, I could just about play the game with all that. :-D

Actually it looks a lot like mine... minus the other two computers, and with a much messier desk. :)

OK, this is just typical...

I settle in the play the game finally; pull out the trusty Cmdr's Log...

Then, after entering data for one station I go to another, and add a new station. First thing that happens is a giant bug; the commodities list is filled with mystery data that's not "Not Set"... and it's not data that's in the save file either.

Restarting the app clears it out properly and says "Not Set" for everything in the new station after restarting.

*sigh*

*puts away the flight stick*

Heh, doncha hate that?

I got another one for you... I went to add a station last night and clicked the pull down for "Star System" (since it was another station in a system I'd already added) and I have two listings in the pulldown for "Radagast". Checked my system_data.txt and it's only listed there once.

[edit] My mistake. One of them was radAgast and the other was radEgast. :)

Maybe a small tutorial? Like how to put commodities in the list? There is also nothing listed in the dropdown boxes. I may not be doing something correctly.
