Abandoned New Trading Tool: ETN

Yea, it sent me on a totally screwball route yesterday afternoon in one system, for materials that simply didn't exist at one station, and were opposite values at two other stations.

From the uk here, etn.io is down.
It was working fine yesterday or it might have been the day b4 I can't quite remember, but anyway it's down, I've tried it on my phone, iPad and Pc with no luck, it just will not work.
When I choose my location I always get, searching.......... "the search found 0 results" message

:( ughhh

Hello Mr. Schnarr,

I'm sure with the current effort to update the site you are being bombarded with questions about your progress. I wanted to be sure you know there are many of us who greatly value and appreciate your contribution. Please don't let the less patient of us stress you out. Amen to that Viper-6-A.

Thanks for the notice as well JS, on the ETN site that is.

This may have been asked already and I've missed it: is the source available via GIT or some other repo?

Cheers bud.

I also wanted to say thank you for ETN, I enjoy using it very much. It's a wonderfully useful and fun program to use to plan trade routes - thank you again.

Wanted to ask you though if it checks for Lockdown status on stations. prior to this last update (fix?) I would always check the destinations in EDDB to ensure they were not on a lockdown before heading out with cargo.

Great program - Keep improving it!

Glad you like it. Currently it isn't an option, but I added a system faction state filter to the TODO list.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the nice note. The funny thing is that the site was hobbling along for a while with EDDB updates broken (no support for the new API). Then I added support for the new API and that's what broke everything. The dataset really grew and I had to upgrade my server storage. While doing that I took the opportunity to upgrade my OS and rewrite some of the update code.

Long story short is that everything is back up and running now and updates are coming in smoothly.

No problem. Currently it is a private repo. If you want to help out send me a message through the site. If enough people want to help I will open it up. Maybe someone can clean up my messy JavaScript :)

Hello Joe113! Everything seems to be fixed now. Did some test and now the quantity of items are back to normal. Can't wait to test it further. Thanks a lot for your website I was really missing it!

Keep up the good work!

it looks like the site is down again :(

Looking back at the logs... there was a EDDB update around that time. Those hit the server pretty hard. I need to move the updates to another database to remove the interruptions. Planning on doing that soon.

Thanks Joe113. Your work is really appreciated!

I just came back to E:D after a 9 month hiatus - I was quite surprised to see ETN off-line. This is easily my favorite tool. By far the easiest trading tool around with a great interface. Very much looking forward to ETN resuming!

Down for maintenance?

I've been using ETN for the past month or 2 and it seems to go down like this without notice for a 24-48 hours or so and then come back just as mysteriously as it disappeared.

Basically, don't worry, it should be back up soon :)
