New update?

So.
Nearly everybody here is talking about a big new update with tons of new items, rides or even a waterpark dlc.

1. Why would you need that?
Im espacially talking about the waterpark update here. There are tons of things that need to be fixed or done before. We are still in the beta guys. I see the waterparks more like a endgame addon and not necsesarry for now.

2. New Items.
With every update there have been lovely new scenery and rides and there is already a huge selection of nearly every basic theme. If you are missing something very particular: There are 200.000 blueprints. Or open a thread in the forum and ask other players. There is a solution for everything (silvarret).

3. My Opinion.
I just hope for some "smaller" fixes in the new update (im nearly 100% sure there will be one soon in summer) For example:

- deciding the length of the stations/trains
- a fix on the blocksections of the cascade coaster
- A log flume station and peep entrance update

4. where is your patience?
Its been roughly 4 months since the last update. Let them breath. Take a step back. Enjoy the game. Im sure they are reading the forum and i dont think they got motivated by stuff like: "Frontier doesnt give a ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ about PC anymore".

Conclusion:
Be happy about what we already have. Appreciate the thousend hours of work by the team. And stop opening new threads about waterpark dlcs and stuff. I think the devs can read so it is not nescessary to wright it thousend times.

4 months since the last update? The studio pack came out 2 months and a week ago. The update before that was 3 months and a week prior. The one before that took 2 months, 3 weeks and 4 days.
There is absolutely nothing unusual about the length of time since the last update and today. I would expect the next dlc will be announced in the next week or two.

Maybe this month like last year. My pc was failing, my on board sound failed or something and it runs sluggish and boots slow. I had to get a new computer. I had an HP Envy this time its an HP Omen. If I reinstall PC on a new computer will my parks and stuff that were created or saved by me (not the workshop items by others) transfer over or do I have to do that manually?

If you haven't uploaded them to the workshop I would say you have to do that manually.

I would agree. Honestly, even addition of hotels and fireworks at this stage seemed to me like a miss-step from Frontiers part.

Anyway,we need to be patient about the future updates.

About content/gameplay updates? Or about bugfix updates? Because I don't think we should have to wait for bugfixes -- they should be a priority IMHO, and released practically as soon as they're vetted. We know of at least one bug that'll be fixed in the next update -- how many more? This is particularly annoying since it seems every content/gameplay update makes more bugs!

I don't have much hope for content/gameplay updates until after JWE, and maybe not even then. But bugfixes -- why are we forced to wait for bugfixes?

I´m one of those who is not patient regarding that as I think they have had enough time to fix at least part of many bugs and problems we have with the game. I´m the one not so happy about their focus on hotels (which are objectively not so needed for this game), instead of focusing what the problems are.

A little while ago they tweeted they'll be at E3 next week. Is it too soon for some sort of teaser or announcement? hmmm...let's hope we hear some good news!

That's for Jurassic World Evolution which they'll be showing a live stream of everything the game has to offer.

Imagine, they start their JWE livestream. Everyone is waiting for the moment when the T.Rexx appears on the screen ... and then the Dino is completely white because they fixed a few bugs at the last minute and accidentally deleted some textures. I would roll away laughing. [haha]

The question is, which problem would be fixed first ... JWE or PlanCo?

How many times have they released an update and then a few days later they've released an additional update with a couple fixes and tweaks that were needed? Or when something they said was coming wasn't ready at the last minute so they had to pull it?

Both have happened before, so I think that shows that work on updates continues right up until the very last minute. We also simply have no idea if they have delayed entire updates for similar reasons when they caught problems, for days or even weeks if they needed to. They may well know at Frontier that they ARE going to release something, but the final date remains in question until quite late in the process. If they say there's an update coming, you know darn well there will be an avalanche of questions as to WHEN???, and a bunch of people unhappy that no date is given, just as there would be an even greater problem if they stated a date and then the update was delayed.

Yes, I agree that it would be wonderful to hear an outline in general terms of Frontier's future plans for the game, but it's also possible that those future plans might change, or they may include plans that some people may not like and perhaps cause them to hold off on making purchases now...if you knew that a PC2 was planned for the end of the year would you be so quick to shell out money for more PC dlc that might not work in it? Would a person new to the game and interested in buying PC hold off even purchasing it if they knew a new, improved one was on the way? What about if Frontier's plans go in another direction and they just plan to end creating dlc at some set point down the line? Would that not also affect sales now? What if they don't plan on adding water rides, or tweaking park management? Those things may well change some people's minds on continuing to support the game, would they not? There's a lot of people who agree that there's still things in the game that need to be fixed or adjusted, but there's not a lot of people really vocal on that issue, so it doesn't affect sales because most people aren't bothered to the same degree. That's just a fact. Why would Frontier go out of their way to announce long-range plans that might bring on a more vocal segment, with more complaints, which may well affect sales, not only of PC, but of any future updates for it or anything else this franchise might include in the future?

Frontier is a successful business, they aren't ignoring us just because they don't care. They may not say some things because they do care, about the franchise, it's sales and the community that supports both, which is exactly what a company is supposed to care about. We shouldn't look at things just from one point of view on this...

Thank you Wagi!

You said what I have been trying to say for months, much more eloquently than I have done.

I whole heartedly agree!

Disagree actually. It reminds of a lot sort of "black and white" thinking . To say or not to say? Developers can still communicate without promising anything. Why not just tell us "ok, we focus on this problem, struggle with this and that and solutions might be this and that" ? There is not only YES or NO... They can always choose something in between...

It´s also very good if they can accept there is something they cannot do and explain why... More appreciated than just silence.... That is true contact with community. What Frontier does is just fake, wanna be "we are in touch and we listen".

@Spoderman

Agree, a lot of it feels like "We are still in the beta". That's the problem, I think. Sure there will be more updates but everything points to more content, not much else.

I don't have much hope for content/gameplay updates until after JWE, and maybe not even then. But bugfixes -- why are we forced to wait for bugfixes?

Releasing bugfixes isn't as simple as clicking a button "update". They have to build a new version of the game and also test it. So it takes time and resources and also there's always the possibility of new bugs with every build. That's why they don't release every new fix as soon as it's done but rather bundle them. Of course with game breaking stuff and major bugs you don't have much choice but in general it makes sense to keep the updates at a minimum.

Their approach with PC seems to be "just get it working somehow and worry about usability later (maybe never)" and their schedule seems pretty tight, especially for QA it seems. Which tells you something about their resource mangement.

TL;DR It's too much work.

This. And I want to add the generic marketing slogans like someone mentioned was in a recent newsletter (good things are to come, just trust us and wait) are the worst kind of statements they can make. Remember how the anniversary update was hyped? It lead to a LOT of disappointment.

And right down the rabbit hole we go......again.

The OP posted a positive message about how they were looking forward to new release material and asking when that might happen.

Then the same few have to come along and change it into yet another series of "fix the game" diatribes, of course insisting that anyone who doesn't agree with them is just a fanboi.

Next will come the personal attacks, the twisting and taking quotes out of context, and shouting down the opposition, just so you can say you "won" the argument.

And the icing on the cake is then the same group talks about how dead and negative the forums are. Really? I wonder why.

Peace out.

Huh. I'm all for snipping a quote to reply to a specific point or even to avoid reposting a big block of text multiple times in a topic, but when you delete my points and then use them to rebut me? [sulk]

You're right, bugfixes aren't as simple as clicking an "update" button, which is why I said "practically as soon as they're vetted". Yes it does take time and resources, which is what they owe us for buying the game -- if it's too much work for them to fix the bugs then why should people buy their games? Yes there's always the possibility of new bugs with every build, competent teams find and fix them during vetting -- that Frontier apparently doesn't was one of my points, "it seems every content/gameplay update makes more bugs". Your "That's why they don't release every new fix as soon as it's done but rather bundle them" makes some sense for bugfixes -- that doesn't justify making players wait for bugfixes until a content/gameplay update is ready for release.

Agreeing with "Which tells you something about their resource mangement" -- hoo boy, does it! [down]

Nobody called anyone a fanboy. Nobody used personal attack... It´s just you, coming here and stiring things up again, because you probably want to. OP started on positive note, some people said they are not so positive and why. So you had to come and "save the day" ? Thank you, but your post is next to useless and you are not a moderator, so don´t do this :/.

Even though discussion is not only positive, it is nice and people respect each other I would say.
