New updates for IUCN statuses - winter 2023

The newest update for the IUCN Red List came online earlier today. Fortunately, it is mostly good news for the animals in-game or due to arrive - hopefully these can be changed soon to reflect this:
  • Scimitar-horned oryx has been moved down from Extinct in the Wild to Endangered
  • Saiga has been moved down from Critically Endangered to Near Threatened
  • In less good news, the fire salamander has moved up from Least Concern to Vulnerable

Just saw this news and posted on the Eurasia thread. The saiga update is mind-blowing! Intrigued to see more details on this as it comes out.

Seriously such good news for two of the game's ungulates. And products of a lot of conservation work.

Nice (except for the salamander). I hope in a future update the.gsme will reflect the change. I don't think it will be this Wednesday since it's too early. Also I guess the scimitar oryx will need a new map in the Zoopedia now.
