New Weapon Mount - Tow Cable Launcher

Good afternoon,

I would like to suggestion a new module:

Tow Cable Launcher (Class 1E):

• Fires a cable that connects to another ship. Immediately breaks if the target applies any thrust while the cable is connected.
• Intent: To rapidly decelerate targets with disabled drives, primarily for cargo theft. Ideally a simple and widely-available module, serving as a better alternative to the bump-stop method.

Optional:
- Set a force limit on the tow cable, in order to cap deceleration by hardpoint size. Larger tow cable launchers could withstand greater loads, allowing for quicker deceleration. This adds a factor to consider when outfitting.

not quite startrek trackter beam witch has been suggested before,how would a cable deploy in zero gravity,food for thought,nice idea though,hook them and drag them in,fishing in space.

The ability to stop drifting ships has been suggested many times, in different formats (tow cable, tractor beam etc.). It's just too low on FDEV's priority list.

Personally I prefer the limpet suggestion, either a dedicated limpet, or a new built in function for the hatch breaker.

That's where my brain went, too. This is perfect for limpet functionality.

I agree with the above limpet posts, but a troll cable, i mean a tow cable does sound like some fun times to be had.

This along with a salvage cutter beam, and have actual destructible wrecks we can find in signal sources. Which this itself, could be expanded upon if they ever allow EVAs.
