new weapon: remote release flak launcher

Important stuff:
1) It is NOT an AX weapon, so doesnt fall under the 'maximum four' rule.
2) Trigger needs to be held, when released flag explodes. This prevents spamming them.
3) Flak appears to be an anti-thargon weapon.
4) HUD icons indicate when to release the weapon, check the triangles. They start 'dark' and begin to light up when approaching the target. Pretty easy if you're used to fixed cannons.
5) Killing a swarm gets you no combat bond/bounty, nor do they drop loot (based on one kill, mind you!). This only serves to make the fight against the Thargoid easier.
6) After killing one I hang around for half a minute or so, the Thargoid did not deploy a new swarm. I dont know if they eventually do, though.

First tests:
I took a gunship and put five of these toys in there. They rip thargons to bits. You only get 32 ammo per module, but I needed six shots, and I wasted two of them. So one module in theory would be enough. Alternatively, in a wing each ship could bring one of them and you can kill the thargons first. Took me less than a minute. Very, very effective and should be a big help!

First test: its a unique weapon. You need to hold the trigger till you want the flak to explode, just pressing it once causes it to explode immediately, triggering a warning message. It creates a cloud of explosions, seems like it might do something against thargons. To be continued...

It needs some pretty neat timing to maximise thargon damage, as they are twisty little blighters xD Fixed are more useful than turrets though.

So what is currently the best way to bring a Tharg down? 1) form a wing 2) Hit the Tharg with AX missiles until it exerts a heart 3) Hit the exerted heart with AX multi-cannon until it's destroyed, repeat 4 times 4) Defend yourself against Tharglets with the new AX flak...
Am I right or am I missing something?

I updated the OP with some preliminary findings. Gotta run to the pub now so I'll leave it to others. If anything is found I'll add it to the OP later. :)

Yes, although I suggest either having one dedicated anti-thargon ship or having everyone bring one Flak and kill the Thargon first. You can do it real quick and it saves a lot of headaches. If you have one ship be the anti-thargon ship, make sure it is loaded with PDT.

I hope you combat pilots recognize that this Thargoid war is being won by Traders grinding out stuff for new weapons. I'm wondering when the Thargoids will realize this and start counter-trading the markets [noob]
