New wing missions encourage more co-op! Thank you!

Oh noes! They won´t take the fun away from us, will they? I can already smell it, payout for delivering 2000t of whatever cut down form approx. 20 mill to 200k, if you´re flying a T9 well bad luck, you wont make profit, maybe even pay more than you get.
Oh don´t mind me, black day...

This needs checking out asap! Could be good, could be bad...:S

Actually from the 3.0 initial release to the lastest patch, seems like the supply run missions went from 10M to 1M rewards... :-(
 
I too am loving the wing missions. 4 of us spent the weekend space trucking and had a blast. IMO payment structure should not be adjusted at all. FD made the decision to not penalise wing play with bounty payments and it's great to see them following through here and making some good, well paying group content.

Please FD don't cave - except to separate wing missions from Solo.
 
I'm not 100% sure if this is the case* but you could possibly set up Wing missions like this (for the buy X amount of Y item and bring them to Z station).

(edit: the case being whether or not Wing missions are already designed so doing them solo would incur a loss for the player to prevent solo players doing wing based missions).

Reward: 19,000,000Cr
Items needed: 3,500
Cost per item: 6,500Cr

In this example it would cost a single player 3,500 * 6,500 = 22,750,000Cr to buy the items.
This means he would end up with a loss of 19,000,000 - 22,750,000 = -3,750,000Cr

However, adding in wing-members to help you change the profit (or loss rather) significantly.

see this is why many of FD's misions are rubbish, you can currently trade medics to outbreak stations for 4.8k profit. Thats a total of 16.800.000 profit.
So many wing missions comapred to regular trading aren't worth a lot, they are not only losses, they are very ineffiicent unless you have high tonnage haulage for high profit/t that ontop youc na also share.

but I see also food cartridge hauling missions for less than 2 million rewards with pver 2.000t to haul. This not even in a wing of 4 people makes sense compared to regular trading. FD needs to look into the upper and lower ened generated missions, both bear a high amount of issues with too high/low payments.

And the most saddest Part still is: they don't encourage the "trader guy + protection escort" gameplay because in such szenario the trader takes the full costs for nearly no profit.

Then I really like wing assassination missions too ! Two guys on the target, and two others slaying the escort....that's quite nice. The thing is it's always the same repetitive layout. One bad guy in a big ship and the 5 escort ships swarming around. It'd be nice to add some variety.

Yes, the ones with the Anaconda a 5 escorts is boring and the most frequent I've seen. However, the time my wing had to fight a highly engineered Elite Corvette, two FDLs, a Vulture, a Cobra MK III, and Viper Mk IV was really fun! My Corvette slugged it out with the target, my friend's Anaconda took on one of the FDLs and our Gunship took out the other escorts (save for the second FDL, which I got). And all three of our SLF pilots were zipping all over the place. Great fun.

I would like to see even more variation. Perhaps 1 Corvette (or Cutter or T-10), 2 Anacondas, and an FDL. Or Corvette, 2 Gunships, 2 FAS, etc. Right now they're probably not mixing it up much to keep it balanced.

As a side note, I love getting interdicted by Pirate T-10s now. I like it even better when they (and Corvettes/Cutters) drop Exquisite Focus Crystals, Core Dynamics Composites, Imperial shielding, etc.:D

It HAS to be a part of Beyond Chapter 2, more wing missions, pleeeease. It would be great to escort a wingmate or an NPC in supercruise from A to B or maybe planetary assaults ! Someone with a SRV go steal military blueprints while the rest attack the base from the air disabling turrets and skimmers.... :D
 
I am pie in the sky waxing lyrical now about what i would like as opposed to what we will ever have... however in an ideal world imo these missions would be practically impossible to do on your own (from the sounds of it, with my ships built as they are with certain "rules" combined with my, "above average if i am lucky but not amazing" skills they probably ARE already impossible for me to solo.

but would be cool if we could hire npc wingmen to help us out - who would take a cut of the mission - like in the DDF. that way wing missions would be for everyone and not the few have mates on at the right time to play with.***

***before i am accused of trying to take the game in a direction it was never meant to go, and that this is a MP game and so npcs are not needed, i would ask you look at the DDF archives (google DDA wingmen and also npc crew whilst you are at it)
feel free to disagree but understand i am just asking for one of the main triggers which caused me to go in fairly generously in backing the game.
FDev didn't solve the main problem: The missions aren't actually co-op missions. You can do them on your own perfectly fine. However, these missions are a very good step in the right direction. I could live with the "magic payout", since most co-op games do this, too.
