There appeared a new icon - yellow, two rings side by side overlapping - on the GalMap.
What does that indicate?

That's the market compare icon. If you visit the Market right now, you'll see that it's busy comparing the station you are in against the station with the rings icon. There appeared a new icon - yellow, two rings side by side overlapping - on the GalMap.

Other than in the usual place, just like (most) other map icons. Damn n00bsThey also forgot a toggle for keybinding reminder at the bottom and I think the icon for the starter systems can't be toggled as well.

The handbook is useless, it doesn't cover the icons at all. It just basically says "hur durr stuff to sell and buy.. buy low sell high hurr durrnurr" .. it's really bad.Thanks.
So there is now an icon for the station where I compare the market prices and an icon (that orange cargo canister) from where I compare it.
Guess I need to take a look at the CMDRs handbook as I have no clue why I would want to have an icon indicating the system where I compare prices - is there any situation where the station where I compare prices is not the station I'm currently docked?

The icon indicates the system you are comparing to - for me that is always some other station, where I am planning to take goods to from my current station.
That said, I don't really feel any need to have an icon on the map to mark it.
you can turn this off by going to the commodities panel at station and clearing it. its comparing markets, I had it on earlier and forgot about it until I noticed it on galmap. I selected filters and cleared all filters and removed it.There appeared a new icon - yellow, two rings side by side overlapping - on the GalMap.
