Newbie building question - heat map overlay

Newbie question. Is there a way to turn off the automatic heat map overlay when I ctrl x (duplicate and advanced move) I can't see where I'm moving precisely enough with it on, it makes me crazy having to turn it off every time.

It will always turn on (many people have requested that not to happen) but you can manually click the X button in the top to close the heatmap. Although it will just turn on again on the next duplication :)

Yeah, I know about that, it was what I was doing last night. But I made this cool thingie and I needed to copy and move 36 of them for a project I was working on. 36 times I had to close that darned heat map in the space of a few minutes. I guess we can just hope that this request makes it into an update someday. It's really annoying.

omg, I think Bo may have saved me here with her key binding post! Apparently there is a key binding that will turn off heat map - H. Still not as good as being able to turn that off altogether but a bit better :)

Yes H turns it on and off. When it works. Sadly most of the keybinds just randomly stop working which is why I didn't say that originally for fear of you pressing H and it doing nothing :p

And yeah I feel your pain about it turning on all the time. Annoys the crap out of me too.

You can turn off the heat map simply by clicking on the rotating radar screen whenever you have anything you want to place selected that uses it , bottom left of your UI . Sadly though it turns on every time you try and place anything that needs a heat map
