Newbie q: ASP Explorer has no engine boost and no messages are shown

Finally pulled a plug on ASP Explorer and outfitted with A-rated core components but i can't figure out why it won't boost. There are no messages like "insufficient power", - just nothing happens when i press "boost' button. (landing gear is retracted and i double checked control bindings.)
The loadout is similar to this.

Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thx!

check you have the right size thrusters and distributor.
too small and a grade wont help at all

Dumb question, but is your gear down or your cargo scoop open?

Edit: disregard, reread the op.

Is your landing gears/cargo scoop still down? Do you have enough energy in your ENG capacitor? If its none of those Could you take screen shot of your outfitting screen were your power distribution and drives are and your UI when you try boost? (press F10 on pc, its get saved to C:\Users"username"\Pictures\Frontier Developments and then upload too igmur and share the link to us.)

I'd say make sure your power distributor is up to spec. If it doesn't hold enough juice in the capacitors it wont boost. If your build is similar as the one you posted then it should be able too. Double check.

Now that I think about it, I noticed I've not been able to boost a couple of times today/last night. I thought it was because my scoop was down but that wasn't the case. Might be a new bug?

And this is what happens (nothing) when I press boost button

Bingo!!! For some reason clutch mode was enabled... Thank you!

If you unplugged it for any reason, or the system thought you did, it'll reset some of the settings in the CP. Saitek's software for the X-52 is abysmal. Hopefully Logitech will correct that at some point, now that they own the brand.

Windows 10 especially has a habit of "refreshing" the drivers and reverting back to default settings. It's a huge pain in the backside when it happens mid-game!

If you get a game freeze for a few seconds, no joystick input or you notice the HOTAS lights flash or change colour on you - don't delay. Menu-quit Elite and get your stick set back up properly.

Hmm, I have an x52 and that hasn't happened to me. For future reference, how do you disable "clutch mode"?

Is it this here? clutch.PNG

I have noticed that every time my computer restarts, I have to right click the "Saitek x52 Flight Control system" in the bottom right of the taskbar and re-select my profile which is handily named "Elite Dangerous" which causes those words to appear on the controller. Perhaps this prevents that issue?

:) Eventually Windows will stop that taskbar nub from even appearing ;)

You can still get to the details, but it's far more work than it needs to be.

To be brutally honest, Frontier's own handling of it's bindings isn't much better. There really should be an in game bindings managements system. I'm often re-binding my stick multiple times a week, despite back ups...
