I still consider myself a Newby.. I've only been playing Elite D for about 4 months. I never went to Colonia.. a few days ago I was in OHM spaceport and there were a bunch of missions.. courier missions to Colonia and surrounding systems. I had just finished engineering and setting up a ASP Explorer for long range exploring. Everything on the ship was either engineered to give me more power.. more jump range and less weight. I had no weapons.. etc.. I decided to take the courier missions and go to Colonia... There were enough missions it filled up my limit. Going to Colonia is hard and interesting at the same time.. Trying to get a route was impossible.. so I had to pick some system between the Bubble and colonia.. The entire trip was going to take over 400 jumps... I did not do the neutron star boost on the way there. I saw all the nebulas you pass.. the WALL of stars it seem.. everything go more dense with a lot more light. When I got to colonia I went straight to Jacques station. I had to do a few more jumps to get to all the stations to turn in my missions. All together with missions and the scan data I sold.. i got about 60mil creds. I stayed in that area for 2 days.. jumping and looking etc.. I realized the ASP I setup could do nothing other than long jumps.. I had no weapons and only a 8T cargo. I saw the local sightseeing stuff.. black hole.. some planet with glowing green stripes. Then I decided to go back.. but I used the neutron star jumps a few times.. I searched and using EDDB I found a system half way between the bubble and colonia that had a star port.. built into a Astroid. I made it back.. and again turned in my scan data... I made altogether 85mil cred for the trip. It was crazy and grueling. My ASP has a 6A fuel scoop..which is a life saver.. I kept my throttle and full and could still fill up my fuel just flying by a star.. at full throttle. What a trip. Not sure If Id do it again tho.
