newest update crash nvidia drivers

So im the last person to complain obviously, but here we go...

since the last update (yesterday or friday?)

I can not do RES areas with 2.0 dsr (nvcp)
Crashed nvidia driver.

Can the devs please explain why this is so?

5820k@4.6, gtx 980 @1550/8000

Had zero judder in res and stations before the update, now I have to revert to 1.78 dsr...woe is me

but seriously, progress is progress, so lets get back to what worked.

I was in a res yesterday and for the first time ever the game crashed to desktop and it sent a report. I didn't look to see what the issue was though. Loaded the game back up and it's been fine since.

Im using in game supersampling as I think it looks better than NV DSR

in game SS is way better than nvidia's dynamic super sample.
but my single 980 oc'd cant handle it well enough.

but ya mine sent a few crash reports.

something is different

My 980gtx isn't overclocked but seems to handle 1.5 in game SS fine until I get in to a station.

What I did notice though is that the stations are fine until actual docking and that is when the judder / low frame rates happen.

Everything else I have set to the lowest setting.

I can even do 2x in game SS but it must be right on the borderline of 75fps as I notice judder from time to time in combat and stations are a mess.

This may not be your issue, but, I have found that ED is more sensitive to overclocking than anything else I have tried.

I can run heaven/Kombuster/other games without any issues with my 980 at 1500/8000

but in elite I get semi regular driver not responding issues on anything above stock (stock being a modest overclock as my GPU is OCed out of the box)
Not had a single crash at "stock" GPU speeds

it is simply related to the new update.

before update:
nvcp dsr 2x
judder in res, station @ stock clock
smooth as butter @ 1550/8000mhz OC, no crashes at all.

after update :
dsr 2x crash with OC
dsr 1.78 no crash with OC.

but who wants to run @ 1.78 dsr..hah

something has changed, fact.

After update yesterday went to my ship in station dock and getting 13 FPS while parked on my 980. I had everything running smoothly this is the most frustrating part for me is having to dial everything back in every time they update the game. What a hassle was really looking forward to playing some yesterday instead shut it right back off and went out for a ride.

Since updating yesterday. My FPS have rocketed. ~ 60 fps in the letterbox, > 600 in the main menu, 100 on landing pad in orbital, and > 200 in SC.

i7-4930K CPU @ 3.40GHz
GeForce GTX 970

Vsync
off.

You are using a vr headset, right? I guess you are playing in plain 2d.

Ontopic: +1
I got my new EVGA 980 Hydrocopper this day and installed it (had a 660OC). After the watercooling was refilled I startet ED, jumped into a RES an BOOM! Blackscreen and ED error. First i paniced and thought my new card was broken but it's good to hear, that I'm not alone. Please Frontier, fix it or tell us what the problem is. Tell us anything you need (errorlogs, systemconfig, etc.) and we'll deliver.

Those numbers are pretty incredible at 75hz. Mine usually runs right at 74 with small drops that recover instantly, turn on yesterday morning 13 did not even feel like looking in to it maybe later.

funny enough I was having a similar problem with my titan x when I upgraded to the latest nvidia driver. I found the culprit for some reason 16x anisometropic filter was on by default in the manage 3d section. Worth a check guys just incase

Tested: anisotropic filtering -> 0 -> still ED crashes after seconds to minutes. Screen gets black, sound is still ok and as far as i can tell my ship is responding (can deplay my cargo scoop). Even with all settings to stock ED crashes constantly :-/

Yep something definitely happened, Im not crashing but its suddenly very choppy in RES sites and my DK2 is kinda lightly 'flickering/greying out' everything like it used to do in Beta days. Hope they fix this out its ruining it for me..

Looks like hell figures just when I had it dialed in and getting good gameplay this. Flashing, crashes to desktop. Taking everything back out clean Driver, sdk update, set 980 back to stock and try that tonight.
