Next Era: Orbital Starports Upgrade?

"Walking" around the landing pads in VR I noticed few things that makes me believe that Space Station may be upgraded, or better updated, in the next DLC.

I noticed few things in common with space ports, like roads for transports and I started wondering why can we use our SRV on planetary bases and why we can't on space ports?
Also, why do we have a smooth transition when approaching a planetary base and why do we have a sharp transition instead when we approach to an orbital star port?

So I want to believe that orbital space ports will be updated to be more in line with planetary bases. In case we will really have legs I think it would add a lot of immersion the ability to drop the SRV at the landing pad and using it to drive along the starport roads to get to other places like mission givers, social areas, personal quarter and so on...

Where does that corridor lead to? And why is this bus not used to pick up my passengers?

I'm guessing lag had apart to play in the docking request and blast doors.

Probably when you enter the station instance and the are no other CMDRS around and the station appears for you the blast doors are closed and open shortly after but you never notice this from so far away, the lag caused a lag.....lol and you noticed them. Certainly with the amount of traffic that station had they should never have been closed in the first place.

I imagine blast doors are there for dire emergencies where the station's integrity and docking area has to be protected from attack. It'd certainly wear out the mechanisml if they had to open/close the blast doors several times per minute.

I'm not expecting any radical overhaul of station interiors until our CMDRs can get out of their ships. Not much point in being able to use SRVs inside a starport.

Or when they lose power to the plasma window keeping the docking tube pressurized.

Not much point in being able to use SRVs inside a planetary base too, but we can.
I'm just expecting they will be updated to be in line with planetary bases.

Sure there is, to disembark from and reboard one's ship, if one wishes to explore the planet that base is on.

There is no where to go with an SRV on an orbital starport.

While I wouldn't mind being able to arbitrarily deploy the SRV anywhere, I doubt there would even be doors for them, or that stations would want random guests burning around with rocket-equipped all-terrain surface recon vehicles.

Not in the current state of the game. That's why I expect this update for the New Era, together with new functions that will justify the need to go around.
Also the arrival transition is another key point. We have a 3D model of the planet base in supercruise that allows for a smooth and almost seamless transition, while for orbital starport there's only a bright light and no transition. This could also be improved.
The game evolved but some details were "forgotten" and left at their original state. I expect these will be brought in line with the rest of the new contents in order to give to the game a more homogeneous design.
