Next new ship ideas

The current batch of new SCO optimised ships have been well received. Hopefully there will be even more on the way. If so, I'm sure FDev already has ideas, but here's some thoughts on ship roles that might need reinforcement.

Firstly, the ships that should be fixed, like Type-8 fixed Type-7.
  • Orca is actually a very good ship for sightseeing missions. It can fit the largest luxury cabin, it can jump well and it can go really fast even without using the boost. Can get there and back again before the passengers get any funny detour ideas. An SCO optimised variant that can also fit on medium pad would be a real killer whale.
  • Imperial clipper is pretty, nimble and fast. Its wingspan makes it a large pad ship, which it shouldn't be. A variant that can retract or swing its wings upward enough to fit medium pad has been long suggested. Also, though not strictly necessary, adding a bit more optional internal slots might also make it a decent medium multipurpose. Hardpoint rearrangement has also been requested, but not high priority.
Secondly, more general role filling and spreading SCO optimised ships across the ship classes.
  • Small pad hauler. The Cobra Mk.V will be the best hauler for small pads. This is similar what Python was for medium pads for years. A multipurpose ship having the best cargo capacity. The most straightforward answer would be a Type-6 that can fit a small pad and beat Mk.V's capacity. A Type-5?
  • Large pad hauler. Panther Clipper LX? Type-11?
  • Small and Large combat ships. Python Mk.II was PvP focused. Perhaps these could be more bounty hunting and war focused. Sounds like a job for Core Dynamics.
  • Finally the large multipurpose. Challenge the Anaconda.

I would add to the list:
1. A really tiny and fast ship (lighter and smaller than a hauler) using class I modules only but with 2 multicrew ability. It could replace APEX adders too.
2. XL sized ship(s) unable to use normal landing pads which can dock to special external port on stations- located for example at the opposite side of "mailslot".

I would also change how imperial clipper looks like. Instead of engines mouted on pylons I would use more compact delta wing type (limited in dimensions by medium pad size) but still in style of imperial design (which for me is: faster, more agile, more spacious, most expensive ship in class, for imperial allies only).

Something very simple but effective for the New python and Mandalay, since you can traverse The boarding ramp move blue ring boarding area to the door. Make the door glow blue. The ring would be invisible but at the door so you could enter your ship at the door instead beaming up like Captain Kirk. It's the small things that can make a difference

I would add to the list:

A very large ship with a small ship hanger plus the SLF bay so I can keep my CMkV with me while exploring. (I'm thinking Panther Clipper or Boa)
Preferably it would have a good jump range SCO when fully engineered, large cargo capacity.

Nuff said

So far only DeLacy, ZP (their subsidiary), and Lakon have implemented an SCO designed ship. I would like to see Saud Kruger at the table next, Feds and Imps be damned.

Racing ship. Extra-small like Sidewinder or Eagle. Decent jump range, the fastest SCO boost but not the most stable so it takes some skill to drive around. Really fast in realspace too when properly fitted and engineered. Minimal hardpoints and utility slots. Not much optional internal space either. Besides racing, it might function as courier or personal shuttle, not much else.
