My wife has had a star database name a star NGC 32 (also known as GC16) after her dog. I have foolishly promised to go there.
NGC 32 is an 'asterism' of two stars or is a G7 yellow star. I have RA and Dec but I cannot find anywhere an estimate of distance.
Does anyone know, please, if the distance to the primary star in NGC32 has ever been calculated, and how I would find it?

It doesn't look like the distance to it has ever been calculated but I'm going to move this thread to the Astronomy forum where it belongs, and you are likely to get a more expert opinion than mine :D

I don't think NGC 32 is the same as GC 16. According to SIMBAD, GC 16 is an A2 primary with a dwarf companion, where NGC 32 is a G7.

Unfortunately, I can't find any distance information for NGC 32. Good luck!
