No Accessible Ship Docked?

Hey all,

Lol, well, I guess I'm missing something here, but here's what happened...

I flew to a large Station (that has a shipyard) in my long-range ship and called another ship to that station. I then swapped to the new ship and flew out to the Outpost (no Shipyard) I'll be operating from.

Now, as I've never used an Apex Shuttle before, I thought I'd check it out. I booked one to go from the Outpost to the large Station where my long-range ship is docked. My plan being to fly that to the Outpost so both ships are there for convenience. However, upon arriving at the large Station where my long-range ship is docked, I get the message "CANNOT INTERACT, NO ACCESSIBLE SHIPS DOCKED". Well, one of my ships is docked, but I don't know how to access it. I've tried looking at terminals to see if there's a recall ship option - like in Star Citizen for example - but there isn't.

I'm sure I'm missing something, I mean, taking a taxi to collect another ship is pretty common, right? Gonna keep playing to see if I can suss what I'm missing here, but any tip welcome!

Go to Inter Astra onfoot in the concourse and change your "current" ship.

I ran into this last week as well...

How do I do that exactly? There's a "CANNOT INTERACT, NO SHUTTLE BOOKED" on the Inter-Astra elevators, and no dialogue option with the vendor chappie.

This is the first thing I tried, then I went to the regular elevators (to hangars) and no option there. This is a little silly! lol.

Edit: Ah, I see now... I spoke to the Apex Chap not the Inter-Astra chap.. Basically, it's like going to the Shipyard in a regular station... I was getting the Apex Shuttle and Inter-Astra names confused as I've no experience with either prior to now. Now I get that Inter-Astra is basically "Shipyard", it makes sense.

Beware: Inter Astra are the ship vendors, between Vista Genomics and the bar area. The taxi service is Apex.

Sometimes it's easy to get the names mixed up!

As per my edit earlier, I got the names confused being unfamiliar with any of them. I mean, I stood on a concourse once...that's the sum total of my experience lol.

Ok, so I did what I set out to do...sort of. I know have both my ships at the Outpost, but there's no way to switch between them as there's no Inter-Astra here. Unless I'm missing something, again, this is a major oversight.

There is no shipyard at Outposts...

Well, yes, I'm aware of that. However, I had hoped there would still be a way to switch ships. I'm guessing this is a "feature" limited by existing code that's been shoe-horned in.

This is really really daft. I should simply be able to select my ship(s) from somewhere on the Outpost. I'm not buying ships, I'm not calling ships to the Outpost. I simply have TWO ships docked here and I'd like to switch between them as needs arise.

Edit: I'm just going to have to reverse everything I've done. I.e. fly my long-range ship back to a larger Station (with Shipyard) then taxi back to the outpost... but then, I'll still be unable to switch to it, so I'll need to recall that other ship then fly it back to where I already was. Ridiculous! Hopefully they'll finish off the core functionality of Odyssey...eventually.

Edit 2: Can I not just reload my darn save from before I did all this carp? sigh Such a waste of my time.

How did you get two ships at the Outpost???

Had one there already, jumped in a taxi, got in another ship and flew it there too. I thought it'd be convenient to have two ships - configured for different roles - at the same station. That went well lol.

Edit: Clarity. Was in a Passenger ship (Python) at Robigo Mines. Took an Apex Shuttle to Hauser's Reach in the same system where my long-range DBX ("Mr. Jumpy") is. Got into Mr. Jumpy and flew to Robigo Mines, but cannot switch back to the Python.

Need a functioning shipyard to switch ships...

The game thinks that "you" are your ship. It was coded that way from the beginning. your body is just another form of SRV. So just like you always have to go back to your chosen ship in the SRV, you have to do the same thing on foot. This was discovered literally within hours of Odyssey's launch.
