(Quote taken from another thread.)

Elite is gorgeous in VR (playing it on a Vive) but the constant need for out-of-game info severly limits the things I can do while wearing my headset.

I like to use eddb.io to find certain commodities, ship upgrades etc., but in VR I end up just flying my well established trade routes because I'm finding it hard to get that information in-game. And I don't want to go looking for a D-rated life-support for an hour instead of just seeing where the next station is that sells it.

Usually I prepare my VR session by deciding on what to do (mining, trading, RES), placing some bookmarks etc. and then I get in the cockpit and just stick to that one activity.

The worst thing however is the Engineers. Because of the work involved in keeping track of what materials you need and where to get them, I simply gave up on that completely.

How are you doing in this regard?

I use so far

Pinning Blueprints
the Materials info listing where to find them
the Prospecting catalogue in Local news category at engineers' Workshops
The in game trade tool in the Galaxy map

Got everything together for a Class 5 FSD upgrade. Did it completely in VR with no external tools... Sorry, but i cant confirm your assumption, OP.

Well since I got double Elite in trade and combat and thus hit the approximately 2 billion asset mark.
I haven't been taking my time in game very seriously.
So pretty much since the horizon beta I have just been goofing off.

I also have used TS and asked non HMD users to google stuff for me...

I make a plan before getting into my HMD for that gaming session. I decide what I'm going to do and research what I need to do before firing up Steam VR.

If I need special items I see where they are then go there in-game. I lift the HMD rarely now. Last night I took it off after two hours to find I was in a dark living room. The missus was dead to the world on the couch and all the lights were out.

Does anyone know of a tool that would let you pin a browser window somewhere in your view? This would be similar to FlyInside.
