No Human animatronics!?

Literally not a single human animatronic in the game!? What happened Frontier???

Where are the animated vikings for my Viking themed boat ride? Where are the toga toting figures for my Roman dark ride? Where is the robotic shark and divers for my underwater submarine ride!?

Oh wait, despite there being a submarine theme there isn't a submarine ride! 🙃

I hadn't really noticed that they were missing when I was watching videos yesterday... that does seem like an odd omission but at the same time I was never really a big fan of the animatronics in planco 1 so I can't say I'm that bothered about it. What I'd really like is more of those custom animated pieces, in a greater variety of sizes and articulations, so we can build our own animatronics.

Just complained about this... No humans, nearly no animals (not even the shark), no falling or exploding stuff, no ghosts, nearly no animated props at all.

This what defines PC2 for me at the moment:

- Frontier makes a great feature that makes me hyped and think about what great things I can do with it, with all the things we have in PC1.

- Frontier takes everything we had in PC1 away and leaves us with no new items to replace it.

THIS is why it should have been an add-on: not because of the price or because we don't get enough new stuff, BUT because the cool stuff we could do with all the things we had in PC1 combined with the new features.

It is very odd that we can finally make proper dark rides but not have animatronics to put in them.

Don't forget, by the time Planet Coaster launched, we'd been playing the game for something like 6 months, and there was various updates and additions by then. Soon after release, there were more.

So let's hope that some of the goodies are still in the oven and aren't quite baked yet. We may see some come soon. And if we do, Frontier, please make them life size. All the human animatronics were silly big in Planco.

I hope so, too.
But I still don't get it: a sequel should normally improve things we had before, not take stuff away we most liked. I hope we get a lot stuff back soon... And I hope Frontier will not sell it for extra cash again.

I really hope, they plan an animatronic-creator for this in the near future. You know, select a mannequin, dress it, choose hair, colours and put it into a pose.

Otherwise I wouldn't understand this lack of animatronics at all.

I mean is everything being held back for DLC? I can’t believe they didn’t include custom music and images. Do we have fireworks and sequencers? I mean RCT3 even had custom images and music. Hell it had a firework creator and laser drawing tool as well as a sequencer. I’m so confused to be honest. So what are we supposed to conclude by these omissions? Well nothing that would make me think they have us mind. For the first time ever I feel ignored by Frontier. So strange.

Already confirmed there are no fireworks either only lasers.
Ok thanks. So yeah why include fireworks when it can be locked behind a dlc pack for $30? I mean geez this is crazy! I don’t understand not offering the same base items from PC1. You know custom billboards and music to name a few. Oh that’s right, another DLC opportunity. Classic PC content DLC. What about animatronics? Oh well of course we can put that in a DLC for dark rides. No new tools or options for basic requests is weird to me as well. Namely the extra station options people keep wanting. Or the midway games idea or how about other real world park things like setting the opening and closing hours. I hear this isn’t an option? That can’t be right.

I was a little concerned that there weren’t human animatronics but then I remembered that the VAST majority of them (including the shark) were part of the Studios dlc. There were a couple of bare minimum pirates or a cowboy in the base set but the stunt based ones all came later.

It is good to remember that a lot of features in Planet Coaster were added with free updates, released alongside the paid content.

I think something a lot of people forget, is they didn't start development with the base of PC1. It's an entirely new game engine, so every bit and piece that was a part of PC1 that took years to develop, would have had to have been re-engineered to work with the new game base. The quantity of features, scenery, and rides that are in PC2 is staggering compared to the Base PC1. Sure, they could use a lot of the visual assets, but there is a lot more to making something work in game than just how it looks visually. That's a lot of man hours.

Also not sure where the idea of a $30 DLC pack came from... Historically every Frontier DLC pack has been right around the $10 mark.

Yes, there are some things that will be sorely missed when starting PC2. But, it also paves the way for a lot of really cool new things and possibilities with the new engine.

I second this - having the custom animatronic pieces 1/2 size and 1/3 size that they are now would be awesome.
