Newcomer / Intro No longer recognizes my T.Flight.Hotas

The game suddenly only offers the option of a generic joystick. My t.flight.hotas isn't even an option to select. I unplugged and replugged in the joystick and restarted my computer but this didn't work. Any ideas? thanks

The first thing to do is see if your operating system sees it, and sees it correctly. If it doesn't, ED won't either.

The operating system recognized the joystick in the control panel. I unplugged it again from the USB and turned off the computer. I then connected the stick back to the usb and restarted the computer. Elite then recognized the stick but it lost a lot of the key bindings. Fortunately I have screen shots of all my bindings. This was weird but I'm glad it's resolved.
