No Man's Sky vs. Elite Dangerous vs. Star Citizen - What's the Difference?

Interesting:

Sadly, NMS doesn't seem to have been released yet.

It's a year old/out of date?

Yeah, but what you gonna do?

Elite is still what it is. NMS is still not up and running. Star Citizen is still only partially done.

It does give some interesting comparisons though. The graphics in Star Citizen seem to be a lot better than Elite.

I have all three downloaded right now. Trying to do the flight training on Star Citizen. Some, (presumably) NCO trainer yelling at me and I haven't a cluse what I'm supposed to do or how to do it.

I'll say this for Elite, at least they tell you. The control instruction in Star Citizen have to be seen to be believed.

No doubt established players will know exactly what to do.

hmm, That video is old as mummies.

SC got enough problems to feel a whole universe, so lets wait and see how it will pan out before we start the hype train again.
ED are rock steady on track, Graphics are improving however yes SC are in the lead in eye candy for the moment.
NMS, sorry but that game just don't appeal to me, I'm more a SIM guy thus playing ED more.

I like the look of NMS, its looks completely different from the normal 'simulations', like its not taking itself too seriously, it looks like it could be good fun.

NMS looks like something you'll find on Nikelodeon. :p

Im not a Star Citizen backer, but I've tried it during their free week passes, and I really, really like it. Flight mechanics will take a long time to get used to after the roll-pitch flight model that ED has. The interactions, missions, voice acting, graphics and overall design are all way better than what ED currently has.
ED brags about having 400 billion star systems. Procedurally generated which basically means all systems are all alike. SC has only a hundred or so planned, but they are all hand crafted. But, with such a massive reserve of money CIG now possess, it's only natural that SC will surpass ED and NMS in most aspects. Not saying they will though...

Time will tell. ED does have a very, very long way to go before convincing me to spend more money on it. Grinding credits in hundred different ways is what makes it mile wide inch deep. I plan on jumping on the SC beta train when it will be available.

This kind of thinking is all kinds of broken. Don't like grinding for credits? Don't do it then!

Well... Since credits is the only thing that is waiting for you at the end of the stick, the grinding sense is inevitable.
I dont mean to start a discussion, but after a year, I feel that is what ED is all about.

I know that you're more a RPG player, thus SC will be more of a game to you. However you can't really compare the two games as they are very different in their approach. SC is build around an imaginary universe, it doesn't evolve the same mechanics as ED. It's like comparing Arma with the witcher. They are both in the FPS area, but that that is all one can say they have in common.

I find the flight model horrible, the ship handling awful, the controls are just too much to the twitch shooter side to me. Sure the graphics are great, but that's it.
Wait and see when they have created the whole PU, lets see if they can fill it with hand crafted content with voices and dialog's.

And just remember +$100 MIL compared to 1/3 of that budget. FD need to earn every penny before they can spend it, sometimes people forget that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for a fight with you, it's just how the game is made, no hand holding. I play, take a break, play again however I'm never in a position where I would like to leave the game or stop supporting it.

Take a rest from ED, Blood & Wine will soon come out :)

No Mans Sky showed up on Steam for pre-purchase yesterday. I will wait patiently for some actual game plays but I know I will end buying it hehe. Thats what space games do to me, even tho I`m not a big fan of the art style in NMS.

I'm sorry but it can't complete when we get to 3302 and we are actually out there, Star citizen, no man's sky and ED can't beat reality. Point being made is until it's actually released there is no point comparing them as we all know with HL2s tenticle beast which didn't make the cut things change every day.
