No Oculus Mode in 3D menu

................It recommends Extended, as does most forums online.

First off, welcome to the forum (the ONLY ED VR forum!) and the EDDK club! :)

I cannot get Direct mode to work properly at all - loads of flicker - only extended works for me and it is bootiful!

Enjoy!

Hi guys,

I'm seeing this issue with the latest Elite Dangerous (+Horizons) [Fresh Install] + 0.6 Oculus Runtime + NVIDIA driver 368.39 [GTX 670]. As a result, I'm not getting any tracking whatsoever. In the 3D graphic options, I'm only seeing "Off", "Side by Side", and "Anaglyph". When launching ED, the camera blue light does not come on.

Note that head and positional tracking is working fine in Demo Scene and Tuscany. DK2 detection was working fine before with an older version of ED + 0.4.4 Runtime + older NVIDIA driver. I feel like the ED update broke things because it now appears to require a newer runtime? I could be wrong.

Going to try out combat training install to see if I can see the Rift in the graphics settings there. Any help appreciated! Thanks in advance!

So launching the combat training demo didn't make any difference. Gosh, this is so frustrating. Can somebody please try out my configuration to see if they can get it to work? Also, what is the recommended oculus runtime for the latest ED?

Okay got it working now! Whew! Just updated to the latest Oculus package (1.5). I wish Frontier would announce that an Oculus update is required in the splash page. I wasted countless hours troubleshooting 0.4.4-0.6.0.

Well perhaps you shouldn't have chosen a necro thread to reply to- look at those dates on the posts prior to yours for goodness sake! Glad you've fixed it though- Frontier did have on their launcher they were using the latest Oculus runtime, but other news has superseded that.
