No one going to play beta because of November game releases?

My fear is that the 1.5 ships release won't get much coverage because Fallout 4, Tomb Raider, and Starcraft all release on the 10th, and Star Wars Battlefront one week later. The ships update isn't too big since it's just three new ships and a few other things, but Horizons on the 24th may get a lot less players playing because of all these other game options. The Horizons beta is where we really need to test and get them bugs sorted!

Granted, Elite: Dangerous has a lot of dedicated fans like myself. I will be playing a bit of the Horizons beta (because betas are the best time to have fun and not worry about credit grinding or death penalties) but even I admit that I'll be playing a LOT less because of other game choices. Move over Fallout 4, I have planets to land on! I'll definitely be playing Horizons when it releases, especially when I get my Saitek X52 joystick upgrade! (which puts my price to over 300 dollars CDN for one game).

How about everyone else? Will you guys put time aside for the beta to help test a MUCH NEEDED game (that has a lot of bugs and things to improve)? Let's look at it this way: If Frontier doesn't get any Horizons feedback, they can always go back and fix all the rest of bugs and graphical things. Right? ;3

Honestly, the videos of the SRV has me hyped so much I may set aside Fallout 4 to play the Horizons beta all together. That's a pretty big statement. I hope others feel the same!

I didn't sign an exclusivity contract, I can play other games besides ED. At the moment I'm playing Life is Strange and Rebel Galaxy along with Elite, and I'll definitely try the beta when it arrives!

Nah, ED is safe with me. After the poo that Failout 3 was, I'm not touching F4 (even wose - no modding tools for now). Tomb Raider is a console exclusive, is it not? In that case it's a nope for me. Starcraft... I will pick it up when it's discounted, which, knowing Blizzard, will be in 15 years or something. Battlefront... A storyless arena pew pew? We've got CQC for that and I ignore it completely.

No, nothing this year fo me... Next year though... Deus ex, Firewatch, maybe I'll pick up the new Anno, but not now.

Battlefront will be forgotten about faster than titanfall. Fallout is not for everyone. Starcraft... no thanks, played supcom to death and giant spiderbots mowing down hundreds of tanks is just way more epic for me ;)

I'm looking forward to 1.5, hopefully i can get to see the updated planets from afar already.

I'm going to be splitting my time between the 1.5 Beta and Fallout 4 next week...mostly Fallout though...

When the Horizons Beta hits all other games might as well disappear from the face of the planet as far as I'm concerned. :D

Well normally I'd be gagging to play the beta and instantly drop any other games, but sadly ED has been forced to the back of my mind recently as my wife has been diagnosed with cancer and is going into hospital on tuesday. so as you can imagine, my beta excitement has kind of vanished. Hopefully it will reappear in time. fingers and toes crossed.

I've only limited interest in the Betas. Great for a quick look at new features/ships etc., but since the progress doesn't carry over I'd always rather be playing the full game.

But I happen to have next week off, so wheeeee.... ships testing here I come.

My fear is that [whatever]

Relax, it'll be fine. Some will play, others will not. Besides, these betas are not for bugtesting anyway, hardly ever is a bug found at this stage actually fixed. This is more a sneak-peek reward for backers, real testing is done outside of these semipublic betas.

The only one I am waiting for is Fallout 4. Tomb Raider is Xbox exclusive so wont be getting that until it is on the PC. As for the Blizzard stuff their games do not interest me at all.

Despite any departures I have made since I purchased this game, i.e. Witcher 3, Sword Coast, etc., I have always found myself coming back to ED each day for some play. Thus, I don't expect these games to be a deterent to those of us who invested the money to access Beta. I am looking forward to testing 1.5 tomorrow, let alone my excitement for Horizons, and all despite the distractions of Fallout 4, which I fully intend to play as well!

Nah the only one I want is Fallout 4 but I always give Bethesda games a wide berth at launch. Might give a look during March though. I do have plenty of indie games I'm giving attention to right now.

has anyone face palmed yet over this topic... i just did. i cant be the only 1. i cant wait to test new ships and landings and whatever else they trow at us.

Let the game begin!
Yeah, I'm not terribly worried on that front. Lately this is all I have the time to play. Can't wait to see the new ships! Do you know if the CM4 will be in as well?

The only distraction I shall have from Elite is the Bloodborne DLC on the 24th and it is going to come in second to Horizons if we get beta on the 24th :D

Greetings

Tombraider! really? lol

FO4 is the big dog and I will be playing it but ED is my game for now and for a long time to come.

Besides FO4 is a quick 30 to 50 hours play.

If FD want beta testers they should be paying for it. Y'know like the old days where beta testing was actually a job...
