My fear is that the 1.5 ships release won't get much coverage because Fallout 4, Tomb Raider, and Starcraft all release on the 10th, and Star Wars Battlefront one week later. The ships update isn't too big since it's just three new ships and a few other things, but Horizons on the 24th may get a lot less players playing because of all these other game options. The Horizons beta is where we really need to test and get them bugs sorted!
Granted, Elite: Dangerous has a lot of dedicated fans like myself. I will be playing a bit of the Horizons beta (because betas are the best time to have fun and not worry about credit grinding or death penalties) but even I admit that I'll be playing a LOT less because of other game choices. Move over Fallout 4, I have planets to land on! I'll definitely be playing Horizons when it releases, especially when I get my Saitek X52 joystick upgrade! (which puts my price to over 300 dollars CDN for one game).
How about everyone else? Will you guys put time aside for the beta to help test a MUCH NEEDED game (that has a lot of bugs and things to improve)? Let's look at it this way: If Frontier doesn't get any Horizons feedback, they can always go back and fix all the rest of bugs and graphical things. Right? ;3
Honestly, the videos of the SRV has me hyped so much I may set aside Fallout 4 to play the Horizons beta all together. That's a pretty big statement. I hope others feel the same!
