Horizons No! over HERE!

THIS! I find a nice flat plane so I can recall my ship. My ship goes and finds a mountainside with a 30degree slope and blocks the elevator. I just found you a flat piece of land the size of kansas and you pick the only hill on it? No, I'm dismissing you and recalling you. Figure it out! *looks at ground, shakes head*

Ill agree with this.. gets a bit annoying..sometimes you just have to laugh..pilot must be playing bingo or something :)

If we ever get to walk around our ships, I'm pretty sure that somewhere in the back of my Anaconda will be a panel marked

Autpilot Maintenance : No User-Serviceable Parts.

It will look a bit like this:

Then I notice a small latch on one side. I unclip it and the whole thing swings away from the wall to reveal:

'LAND OVER HERE DAMMIT!!!'

'I'm sorry Red. I'm afraid I can't do that.'

Now that telepresence is a thing, I would love to be able to recall the ship but have it under my control so I can land near to me LOL
great idea!
Or even being able to leave a marker so that when ever you finally get back to your ship, you can easily fly it back to where you called it from by following the blip on it's radar.

Happened several times!

I mean, I had to go thru sheer almost vertical cliff walls and some very hard terrain just to find a piece of flat land and the da*n autopilot decides to land on top of the mountain where i came from with a 30-45 degree slope and would take me a long time to get to.

I really hope we can soon control our ships while in SRV so we can choose where to land the it [blah]

Hehe, seen this more often than I can recall.
I kinda imagine the internal communication might look like this :

Player base : Frontier, please make sure the Ship lands within 250m at least on suitable terrain!

Frontier Forum Feedback Watch to QA : Hey guys, we're seeing persistent and numerous requests to have the recalled Ship land closer to the Player, if Terrain on Planet permits it.

QA to Dev POC : Feedback Team has collected evidence that Players demand their Ship to land close if surface tiling permits it.

POC to Resource Assessment : We'd like you to check if the recalled Player Ships can land closer to the Player on good tiles without colliding with known milestones and deadlines acc. weekly tasking.

Resource Assessment to Decision Team : We've checked with Networking and Mechanics, giving Players a recalled Ship within far closer prox to rejoin requires very litte effort, realized within less than an hour, 1 Dev allocation.

Decision Team : Thanks for contacting us on this topic, we've made the Design decision to maintain the recalled Ship mechanics being realized by a 1500m RNG poll on the Client. No Action required.

:D
