No Shutdown Field Neutralizer needed?

I equipped a Krait MKII according to the following specifications:

It surprised me that no Shutdown Field Neutralizer is in the list.
If I engage a Cyclops Interceptor, will I not need one?

When you take out the second to last heart, instead of using the SDFN, just go fa off amd boost away. If you get shut down, in fa off you will keep your momentum and move away from the interceptor
You can go cold and avoid the SDF totally as well, but i would say the fa off move is easiest, at least to start with.

The Shutdown Field Neutralizer is kind of useful if you're crossing Thargoid space with your cargo hold full of meta-alloys or Thargoid related materials and get pulled by an Alien bug...

If you don't have one equipped you can FAOff boosting away before they fire the Shutdown Pulse.

This is actually a common misconception regarding "Meta-Alloys", while thargoids will definitely get upset if you are carrying "Thargoid Sensors, Probes or Links", they don't actually care about the Alloys. Once they scan you they will make a few begging noises "Drop Alloys Plz.." but this will only last a few seconds before they give up and leave.

It's quite common to hear people asking "Is it safe to carry Meta Alloys in Thargoid space?" and the answer is no.... but your biggest threat is actually the NPC pirates that interdict you instead!

Correct Just for completeness, Thargoid cargo reactions are:
Meta Alloys: Either friendly, or fearful, it's hard to tell. Either way, it's not hostile (note, the thargons deploying at the end is the proximity trigger, unrelated to the meta alloy reaction). Thargoids scoop them up too, and summon another Thargoid for over five.
Thargoid Items: Unhappy, turning aggressive if you don't jettison them. Thargoids scoop them up too, and summon another Thargoid for over five.
Guardian Items: Hostility, turning aggressive if you don't jettison them. Thargoids shoot and destroy guardian items.

PS; Pay close attention to the differences in the audio from the Thargoid once the scan is complete.

You guys are right regarding Thargoid response to specific items in your cargo hold... but the reason I mentioned "Meta Alloys and Thargoid related items" is because I was assuming fetching these would be the main reason for you to be crossing Thargoid space to begin with and of course eventually getting pulled by the bugs... and it is a little faster to proceed jumping after being hyperdicted if you use a Shutdown Field Neutralizer.

What is the propper sequence of actions for boosting away?
I guess it is:
throttle zero (pulling the lever full back as in the options page my thrusters only thrust forward)
boost (preferably not in the direction of the interceptor)
FA off
