No Single Player offline Mode then?

Sure, they are laughing, because most of their fans don't know that they don't have their truly private server SC anymore either, for almost same reasons.

I know - I can't wait for the S-Storm to hit when they realise they also can't mod the game they have paid a lot more for.

I'll get the popcorn out for that.

I get them in solo, private and online.

They appear to be graphical to me as changing the texture level makes them better but does not eliminate them.

They are worse for some types of systems.

Optimisation is often one of the last tasks in software development.

I can't confirm but I'd suspect some of those people are the same people posting here, and certainly more of them I suspect are coming from other forums to gloat.

These are most likely kickstarter backers who didn't care much untill release day. They are understandably angry as they pledged for DRM Free versions of the game, not Always online DRM. More will keep pouring in, as the news spreads.

Yes I fully expect them to be fixed in the next release. If not they will have more on their hands than the few impacted by offlinegate.

Technically you are still competing with players for mining and trading resources playing solo. Also when trying to buy gear you are competing.
True, but with so many systems to explore I don't think it will be as bad as you think. I don't know how many inhabited systems there will be on launch day but I would guess that they there might be enough to allow the entire player base to populate each one with only a couple of players. Pure guess work off the top of my head based on what we have seen from the tiny amount of space we currently can get to.

The people over at Star Citizen must be laughing their heads off.

Yet, they still don't anything more than a few modules (with no working guns, haha) a few ships in hangers, and they also just recently found out that dedicated server software has been pulled.

You think the press for this is bad, wait for when SC has it's bad day.. Oh ho ho.

This is not about sympathy. I want this game to succeed and remain relevant for a long time. So far they are in the middle and need to push into a direction. Multiplayer is where the majority of the market is. Dropping offline mode, is a good first step, but they need to also drop solo online mode (at least the ability to switch at will from open) also, and just go serious about multiplayer and guild support.

Multiplayer and guild features is what will keep this game relevant for a long time. The shine will fade, the grind will suck, they neeeed multiplayer to keep it relevant and fun.

If Frontier drop SOLO completely there will be NO game for me to play. OPEN as it stands right now is a lagging mess, guess where I live? thats right Australia, FD in their infinite wisdom have dropped a core feature and have dismissed an ENTIRE country. What do you reckon should I put up and shut up or move to South Korea.

I'm more that Frontier decided to change their advertised features and deny gamma backers access to gamma, less than a month from launch. I had no need for a fully offline single player game though so that does not affect me, but I can sympathize with those who are repulsed by this bait and switch.

fighting for who does worst, new level of competition! xD

I don't know. I've enjoyed a few videos of someone driving around their hangar in a golf cart. That was a memorable 15 minutes, that was.

Im surprised no ones jumped on the elitism that Roberts or what ever his name is so eagerly exudes. Serious my main reason for keeping an exorbitant distance from Star Citizen, is the elitism. Its not just the Head guy but seemingly every player of it ive encounted has been this way too. And elitism irks me more than anything in the world.

Also yes Optimisation are one if not thee last thing to do....wish everyone on Keen Software House's forum knew that.
