Well its quiet tonight and will probably be even more so tomorrow...and even if they come...what more can be achieved...as soon as the first refund was given there was no going back.
Hey its not my decision ... I just cant see any more you can do ..... You gave it your best..

Over? Did you say 'over?' Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Ya know guys I really feel for ya.....
No Offline doesn't bother me that much although I would have loved it and even started a thread on alternatives ( which got blended into another )
and even though im ok with it all I have been around ...Agreed, Disagreed and made a few comments mainly in support of your feelings towards offline mode.

The decision has been made final and refunds are in process.....What's the point...your just beating yourselves up keeping the thread open and going over and over again.
what more is there to gain keeping the thread open ?

On nights where my connection is bad enough to make the game unplayable, but enough for me to access the forums, I can come here and bump the thread, keeping myself entertained.

Make "pew pew" sounds when you mouse click, it adds to the immersion.

Precisely. And perhaps one day, Braben in his heaven will hear my sad pew pew sounds, feel sad an finally gib offline. He said he might in the QA thread too, when the servers die. I won't be holding my breath though. Got to inhale to do all that pew-pewing.

Some of you guys are really funny... Yes, I have an internet connection, but I bought a game with an offline mode and now they took this part out. I also have a car, doesn't mean it's ok to just think that I'll drive everywhere for you.

Hmmm. Aren't the single player missions played locally? I don't recall having lag on them. So at least the combat part of the sim can run locally.

What...Ye it was cuz they never did.....That was Japan LOL

Oh my. You haven't watched Animal House. WTH IS WRONG WITH YOU! Go watch ASAP. Makes for a good LOL or three.

I'm not overly fussed about the lack of an offline mode because this is 2014. However, some of the people who were all about the offline mode, with quite a few "This is MY galaxy that I bought and paid for and 400 billion stars isn't enough to share!" quips make me deeply concerned.

Okay. So this isn't the product you were hoping for. You may not have twigged that even a fully backed kickstarter is a bit of a lottery. Gh0d, just look at That Other Space Game. 25 times as much wonga and they've given us a hangar, a pointless arena and the ability to spend hundreds of dollars on a few polygons and a nice UV map. I'd be much more peeved about that.

But what I'm really worried about are those of you who seem to be hell-bent on raising such a stink it damages the game that Elite will be. It's like you're saying "it's not what I wanted, so I'm going to try to destroy it". Heading out to sue, to file class-action suits, to blacken David Braben's name and the names of everyone ever employed by Frontier Developments, and their pets, and the vets who gave their pets their shots.

Donning my nomex undies for the torrent of flame and bile I'm sort of expecting, but don't you think that's a smidge excessive? Even a tad?

I bought this game over the frontier store, not as a kickstarter member. Didn't get a refund... What now?

Well first of all, what difference does it make what year it is? What are you trying to imply? Second, what about the people who so callously don't give a sh** about those people who AREN'T going to get the game they paid for, or at least, were led to believe they were paying for? The game already IS destroyed for them. Yet other people just tell them, too bad for you, us people who wanted online are getting what we wanted, sucks to be you nyah, nyah, nyah. How do you think that makes them feel? Friendly?

Personally, I'm not hating. I love the game. It's wonderful so far. When I can play it because of my connection. Which is the best I can afford. If the only thing I can do is complain I suppose that's the only thing I will do. Except when I have a good day and lag doesn't mess up my enjoyment of the game.

That being the case perhaps you should have got something back..... Try mailing again and asking for an explanation ?

To tell you the truth, I'm not really able to. I'm German and my english is just enough for conversations on this level, I can't really represent myself when it comes to consumer law.

David Braben (and Frontier Developments) lives and dies by his own actions, and the consequences of those actions. Don't blame the backers for feeling screwed over. Without them, you wouldn't have a game at all.

... and I'll just leave it at that.
