Newcomer / Intro [noob] Hauler or Adder

Which one should I buy? I was thiking the Adder was better because less specialized but since the stupid mechanic that you have to get the killing blown to gain something from pirates (and the police is always in the way) I'm thinking trade/courier is better, at least until I have enough money to buy a Viper or a Cobra.

I moved from hauler to adder. I loved both but I think the adder is a better option if you can go for it.

At the moment I can afford an Hauler, not and Adder. Do you think is better to just buy the Hauler and gain enough to change it with the Adder later?

It's definitely easier to earn in a hauler, depends how far off the adder you are. Also you can choose to part ex your current ship or save it.

Well the Adder is only a little more and offers more cargo space. 1 extra class 2 compartment. Also better hard points for defending your cargo. Good luck CMDR! o7

Also, the Viper gets basically no cargo space, but better alignment of hard points, greater mobility, and smaller target VS the Cobra. Viper is a fighter. Cobra gets good cargo space, but poor alignment of hard points, and poor mobility (little to no yaw). So cobra if you want to be able to make some trade runs while also a decent shooter then Cobra is good. That being said I prefer a Viper for when I feel like doing some shooting, and an Adder for when I want to trade (good mobility and cargo space). Good luck CMDR! o7:)

Thanks.
I bought a Hauler and I already upgraded it to 16 cargo space. I think I'm gonna change it for an Adder when I can, does the upgrades value when I sell the ship? Also, what are the Trade Data you can buy on the map?

The module upgrades do impact the resale value so will reduce cost of next part ex, also insurance so keep a check on your rebuy costs. Trade data will list the prices in the market of that system. Next time your in the commodity market you will see a column for galactic average, you can drop this down to any system you have valid trade data for

I've moved from the Hauler to the Adder very fast when i realised that with the Hauler i was a sitting duck with a big jump range, the Adder is better in all aspects except jump range, its a very versatile ship that when properly fitted can play many roles, from smuggling to mining to hauling to bounty hunting, its a true pirate ship, one thing i didnt liked about the Hauler was its heat problems, that thing overheated very easily and didnt cooldown fast, not so with the Adder which is a cool running ship, can defend itself when fitted for hauling or mining and can be a potent little fighter as well. I say grind for some cash and go for it, its a great little ship.

Yes you get trade in from your current ship when you buy a new ship, but only if you want to, you can store the old ship if you want.

The modules from one ship will not move to the new ship, you will need to rebuy any upgrades and so on for the new hull.

Trade data is more specific info from surrounding systems so that when you go into the commodities market and highlight an item, it will tell you on the right if it is imported, exported or not traded with a system you bought data from. You can also just go there and dock, open the commodities page and then you won't have to spend the credits on trade data. Lots of programs and other stuff is out there to help you with trading, pencil and paper work fine too.

I've got a viper for missions that demand a fight, & an Adder for the trading.
I prefer the Adder over the Hauler, but that's just my preference.
My viper is tricked out to the tune of 1.8million, & I'm trading to upgrade it further.

If you are planning on doing any mining the Adder has a little bit of an awkward cargo scoop, you need to use it slightly off centre (I go to the right) or the pick up just bounces off something. Go dead slow on final approach to (I used thrusters) but overall I am loving mine. Will be sad to see it go next time I am on as I am about to get a Cobra III.

So, what did you get?
i asked myself the same question. Then I playd/earned a little more and went for the Adder.
good choice. I like it.
will add some features and then earn for the next. ... Cobra i guess.
