Noob Killers

Just think of all those cute little turtles hatching on the beach.

They don't all make it to the sea.

Yes, but the seaguls kill 'em for food, not for sport.
Besides that humans are supposed to have evolved somewhat further
than birds.
Better luck with your next try at being clever.

For the record I like the sound of Mobius but Open is fine as well. Just avoid certain places until you're in a ship that can stand its ground long enough to either fight back or have a good chance of getting away. The galaxy is huge, there are more systems than there are humans on Earth. Even the tiny inhabited space is so vast you'll rarely meet other players unless in a CG.

So avoid the starter system and surrounding area and much visited systems like Lave/Leesti at least until you can outrun other commanders.

Were you wanted? Pledged to a power? Hauling stuff and got pirated? Were they asking something you should do?
None of the above.
I was looking to engage NPC pirates for some cash....

Another thing, my ship is as agile as a pregnant brick.
Any way to make it (FAR) more agile?
Since, it's virtually impossible to keep an NPC enemy in my crosshair, they speed around much faster than I can turn...?

Clever? Gulls 2 x 'L's.

I don't see what your beef is. My analogy is a simple example of survival of the fittest. Fairly pertinent in this context.

Remember it's only a game.

This is a fact, but then again, they dry out in the sun rather than getting their cute little heads stomped on by some hairy dullard in steel toecapped boots!

Stop with the Poor little Turtle Analogies, it's braking my heart to think of them!! ;)

Only a game? You mean it's not real? Seriously?

Not real? You know after trying horizons beta last night I'm not so sure...

I checked wiki to confirm. The poor things have it real hard.
Even the deck chairs kill them.

And it ain't much better even if they do make it to the sea.

Sorry Wasp!

As Long as you LEARN from the death
Do tell me: how can one learn from a 2 shot death?
Only a game? You mean it's not real? Seriously?
If it's only a game, why not hunt the more interesting?
These people are griefers, they have no reason to kill a clean noob.
So why are they doing this?

Maybe there should be a severe penalty for griefing noob players?
This attitude will keep players away from the game.

Just out of curiosity: 2OP ... are you sure that this was commander who killed you? (and not some aggressive NPC or theirs wing?). May sound stupid, but when I started I did such mistake few times till learned how looks cmdrs icons on radar. My first few dies were by aggressive NPCs and I was longer time around starting systems (till learned that can travel many jumps away easily)

Hey Salimi, we are on your side, read our post carefully, we agree with you and sympathies with you, i was just trying to make you feel better and encouraging you to saty in this great game.......

Don't ever bite the hands that feeds you (Or agrees with you!). I have been where you are now....Annoyed and angry, even posted on here and got me into trouble, i am still in the game and enjoying it so much i want to help guys like you. If you learn from this and you already have, by now you know some People can kill you in 2 shots, so you know it can happen, That is a lesson learnt, so you know when you get more experience that Hey, how can i kill Noob killing Pirates in 2 shots as i know you can as it happened to me......Gets you thinking about weapons and how you can use them.....LESSON LEARNT!!

Don't give up mate, keep going keep learning and get Revenge...It is SWEET!!!

The eagle is the most maneuverable ship, you can get the stats here...

But with NPC's generally you just need enough shielding and learn to fly backwards - they'll fly at you. Although don't try this in an asteroid field! :¬)

I think it's time to get a posse together and bring some law back to the starter systems. I know a fair few commanders who will be all too happy to help.

Picking on noobs just isn't cricket.

Great idea Jonny, but it has been muted before and failed a miserable death. It would be nice to have a complete opposite to the Code... maybe call it 'Edoc' Group, or 'unlockedCode' or............?

Thx for the spelling correction, and no, it's still out of context.
Survival of the fittest relates to the capacity of a species to adapt to changing environments, not to the ability of an individual to be a bully
But hey, 3rd time lucky maybe ?
Also, funny how "remember it's only game" only ever is slapped into the face of those at the receiving, and not the other party.

Except in the analogy of the seagull, we're the turtles not the seagulls, therefore it's quite apt, imho. Either the new player (ie: the baby turtle) must adapt to their environment, or get killed by a no-lifer with psychological issues who gets his kicks from picking on people smaller than him, probably because the girls at school beat him up (ie: the seagull). One way of adapting is to get out of dodge forthwith - another is to switch to solo or a pve group. *shrug*

I stopped pwning noobs long ago since its counter productive and not challenging and even though we had lots of lols it sort of made me feel bad, well - guilty. Although I did have an epic moment when I visted Nagilab once (I think, its next to Eravate) when I went to an outpost and there were loads of sidies queued up for docking. I systematically killed them all as they were waiting to dock thus clearing the queue for me (hey that Viper engine sound sort of sets the mood for carnage). Well it was one way of jumping the docking queue :p The down side is some time after the outposts got an armed defence lol.

I can't believe I'm recommending this but perhaps OP should play in solo until hes out of the starter area. Its only really there that your likely to encounter this sort of thing at its extreme.
