I think its just one seting;
After installing Oculus Home, go to Settings>General
Switch the top option on for Unknown Sources - "Allow apps that have not been reviewed by Oculus to run on my Rift"
This allows any external program to access the Rift.
Launch ED.
Oculus Home should start, or if you left it running, ED will just pop up on its own in 2D
Go to Options>3D and set the option to HMD (Speakers) or HMD (Headphones), whichever is appropriate.
If there's no sound in ED;
You might have to right-click on the volume control in the Windows system tray>Playback devices> set the Rift headphones to default device in order to get sound.
Can't remember if you need to exit out and start ED again for the change to HMD to actually take effect. It might just switch okay without a re-launch.
Now put the Rift on your bonce, and look at the target rectangle for a coupe of seconds - then bam, you should see a new hangar with the SRV in it along with a green Eagle ship.
Load as normal.
Next time you want to play ED, you can just launch ED from the normal launcher, and it will open Oculus Home by itself, then ED will start.
