Not a chance.

OK, I'm done with your silly game until you fix it. And I imagine that I'm not the only one who's gonna say that after today.
I have successfully "hit" the Titans on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, but after your last "fix" there is NO CHANCE of reaching the Maelstrom, let alone the Titan.
It has always been true that if you could out-run an attacking Thargoid ship you had a chance of escaping. If you could boost at 500 MPS (give or take) you could beat them. Now it's no longer true. My dedicated Thargoid Maelstrom ship boosts at OVER 500 MPS and the Glaves (so far every time it has been two Glaves) scream past me, or simply pull me down to a speed which allows them to maul my ship to destruction. It has always been true that if your ship ran "cold" (below 15% or so) the 'goids couldn't "see" you or track your ship, that's apparently no longer true either. Your ship can be at 2% and still be fired upon by Interceptors or Glaves
I've been playing for a long time (for most) in excess of 5200 hours (all active, no log in and go hide). New players or players new to Thargoid fighting take one look at these Thargoids and quit. You know it, I know it and most players know it too.
Whoever decided that this would be a "fun" addition to the game was sadly mistaken. If "experienced" players have no chance, what do the 'nubes have to look forward to? We grind our asses off to engineer ships to the hilt to whup 'goids and what do we get for our efforts? Blown up! Re-buys!
I am not looking for "easy". That would be whinny stupid. I am looking for a chance to win. Slim chance accepted. No chance? Ridiculous.
Nah, you are going to lose players over this.
Silly question; do any of you actually play the game? Or is it that you "know stuff" that none of the rest of us are aware of?
Good luck explaining this foul up to share holders.

That was not applied by the latest patch. Even before I noticed that stay cold did not make me untrackable and that my Cobra Mk III with a 640 (!) boost is unable to escape from a Thargoid!

Including a glaive hyperdiction I've still been able to get to the maelstrom in an unengineered DBX (albeit with chonk armour + biweave).
A soon as you get ripped into normal space, FAoff, boost away from them and heatsink. Should give you enough time to high wake again.
In the maelstrom system just never fly in a straight line. I do one massive barrel roll from star to maelstrom. If you get it right you won't be interdicted once.
Easy 😁

I have hit the Titans numerous times with nothing but the "normal" issues. The Glaves have been dialed up. Read the patch notes. I hit the boost, FA off and popped sinks as soon as was able. You cannot run from them. They pull you down and blow you to hell after stripping your FSD so you can't jump. My ship boosts in excess of 600 MPS and it wasn't enough. I was stupid enough to try several times with the same result. If you can get your super DBX in there you go for it.

Read the patch notes.

  • Fix implemented for the Glaive not correctly utilising its anti-guardian effect when in conflict zones around planetary ports.
  • Fix implemented for the Glaive occasionally clipping into the Titan during combat.

Fix implemented for the Glaive occasionally getting stuck on asteroids in the Titan location
Three mentions of the glaive. Nothing about it being dialed up.

I'll test it again later in the week.

I can understand the frustration. It took me an hour to get to the maelstrom on one of my streams. Admittedly, I had a hardware fault on one attempt and another was scrapped due a lack of limpets, but it has been the closest I’ve been to rage quitting for quite a while.

Ps mature due to a Glaswegian language not nudity!

That is only your opinion...
It is my opinion, but not only my opinion. There is a difference between being a challenge and being OP. The Glaives are the former, but not the latter. People are adjusting their builds and tactics and are killing them or evade their hyperdictions left and right. It is only a small number of participants who keep fueling your other thread, while a lot of other participants basically tell you to "git gud". I am not a fan of the "git gud" mentality, but in this case I prefer it to nerfing those awesome nasty little critters.

Yes, the Glaives are a challenge. And yes, it is possible to lose a fight against them. OP? Not so much.

You can synth limpets...

I should have picked a better or more adequate title, if all that people read is it and not the extensive text I wrote justifying the fact that Glaives are very unbalanced.

And no. It is not just a small group of people that are "fueling" that thread, judging by the amount of people that liked my original post.

I thought your answers in that thread were balanced and well justified, although in disagreement with my perspective on that matter.

This reply here makes you look like one of those people that has a hardened and unmovable position, even though it has no notion of what was written or why it was written the way it was. I expected better from you...

Same. But in a slightly engineered Dolphin. Survived a Glaive interdiction for about 8 mins while trying to figure a way to get away without high-waking. They are bothersome but not that deadly if you're not in a paper thin build. Boost is useful to keep other Thargoids from joining the party though. Sounds like a skill issue.

Yes and no. They're ignoring it in standard Fdev fashion, but at the same time they will ignore this one.
It's not a clear cut issue though, sometimes it's more a matter of adjusting play styles to suit that can get some hot and bothered. In that case, I'm not sure what can be reasonably expected of FDev. This is one of those situations, though I get that it can act as a good jumping board for a doom/FDev bad thread.

So, every forum input that does not cater to a knee high bow compliment is just a doom/FDev bad thread ?

Well I am sorry you are disappointed, but there is little I can do about it. I can assure you, and this has been documented here many a time, I'm glad to admit when I am wrong and happily call myself an idiot if neccessary. In this case, I am still disagreeing with the "OP" or "unbalanced" perspective though, and it would be sad to see the Glaives nerfed because, as I maintain, a small vocal group keeps insisting they are OP.

Likes can be deceiving. I am not reading back 20-odd pages, but skimming over it, it is at best a handful of posters not moving an inch from the "omg OP" position, while most of the others keep telling them: Adjust your builds, adjust your tactics, attain the skill to deal with them.

As for why I posted what I posted in reply to this thread's OP: It is an uneccessary "OMG totally OP, my old tactics don't work anymore, Frontier have no idea how to design a game" rant that frankly does not need its own thread.
