Not A Fan Of The Track/Fences

I LOVE this second game...except for two small things. One, in the second game, it's much harder to unlock things for sandbox. In the first game, you didn't have to play every single mode to unlock every thing. Two, the track and fenxe issue. Building the track AND fences is fine. I like that you can have much more control in making perfect circles. What really bothers me is that if you build a fence just a bit too close to the track, and there's a fence on the other side, it tries to get you to build a gate.
I don't like this. In the first game, you could get right next to the track just fine. I don't always put gates in my builds.
Another smaller issue is that in sandbox, the areas seem to be square. I don't like square parks....unless there's a setting somewhere that I'm missing.

All in all, this is a great game....though the knockoff Chris Pratt is a bit offputting, as is the fake John Hammond.

You.. do realize that you can simply unlock everything in Sandbox with just one option, right?
You don't have to play other game modes at all (with the exception of some maps and a few Challenge mode skins).

How ? From videos I watched, they said you have to unlock certain dinosaurs by playing the Chaos mode and the other modes. You're saying that I don't have to ? How ?

Buildings are also all unlocked, if research is turned off (on old gen consoles you have to pick a set/era though, on PC and current gen you don't have to).
Some maps are available from the beginning, but some must be unlocked by playing the other modes.

I have a PS4 Pro. If this is true, it's awesome. I really couldn't care less about the modes other than Sandbox mode. I'm really only interested in building Jurassic Park era stuff, maybe Jurassic World once in a while.

this is good news. Sandbox is all I really care about. In the first game, I only played the "actual" game through once in order to unlock all the stuff for sandbox. this will save me a lot of time. thanks.

Do you still have to unlock the different maps, though, from doing challenges and Chaos mode ?

I am annoyed by this also. The workaround I use is to build each section in small(ish) pieces. If the part your plotting down extends further than the part parallel to it, it wont prompt a gate option.

Awesome. This is really annoying, but I'm glad there's a kind of work around. I DO like that laying down the tour track seems a bit easier with more options. It's kind of cool that you can decide which end of the Tour building the cars can come out of...

Everything is unlocked in Sandbox mode at the start of the game aside from all of the maps (excluding Canada and maybe the Square Maps) and some of the skins. The map unlock conditions are listed on the Sandbox map selection screen. If I recall correctly, they are: Finish the mission (for the DFW Campaign maps as well as the JP3 and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Chaos Theory missions) or get at least three stars (for the other Chaos Theory and Challenge Modes). Just so that you are aware, the DFW Campaign and the JP3 and JWFK Chaos Theory missions all go by really fast in comparison to the other Chaos Theory and Challenge Mode missions. If you want to unlock as many different maps and biomes as possible as quickly as possible, I'd suggest completing those. The DLC maps are all immediately unlocked upon purchase.

Certain skins are unlocked exclusively through Challenge Mode. You can see the unlock conditions either in the Challenge Mode selection menu, in the Species Viewer, or on the genome editing screen. I think that the Square Maps are also all unlocked by default. However, since I unlocked all the maps prior to Frontier adding the Square Maps, I can't test this without deleting my account, starting a new account, or buying the game on a different system. I've no intention of doing any of those.
