Not gonna lie The Dolphin is my new favorite small ship.

I was not expecting a lot out of this ship, but it delivered. It's small, fast, has a decent jump range, and it has good internals for its size. Plus I mean just look at it, so cute and tiny, it also makes squee noises. 10/10 frontier.

It is the best bullet ever! Got mine around 38 ly with 484 boost with A rated low power shields, and a couple of modded mine launchers. I used to use my courier for data runs and surface scans - now it's all about my mini Saud. 10+ FD.

Beautiful ship. I named mine Princess of the Skies. (My Beluga is Queen of the Galaxy.) I use it as a small passenger ship, perfect for hauling some rich tourists, it brought back its full price in one trip.

CowMander Kubel here. My battle cow needs this little beauty as torpedo payload. I pay in advance.

Hehe joke aside. It does look really great.

I realy like it too, good speed, good jumprange and a nice earner.
Just be carefull in planetary flight, when you steer left or right using roll and pitch it can happen that she overheats in literally seconds.
And I mean overheat like in 180-200%, I fried a couple modules yesterday testing this bug.

Fly save o7

Although I am super stoked about the DBX changes (mine does 50 ly now!), I'm currently tooling around the bubble in a 35 ly Dolphin and I love it.

I change ships like underwear, so I'll be flying it a bunch. 07

Took her to Freeholm tonight. Don't click if you don't want to see an asteroid base.

I'm amazed by the new jump ranges as well. I had to purchase a DBX just to test it and after engineering it jumps 53+ Ly which is mind boggling! I was struggling to get 39 Ly from my Asp X. I have a new exploration ship now. My Dolphin jumps 38+ Ly and even the not-so-optimized Beluga can do 32+ now which could be even more, should I really pay attention to its modules. Carrying passengers is really entertaining now with such huge jump ranges. It doesn't take forever to take them to their destinations now.

Im loving my dolphin, first thing i did was give it weapons, tank its hull, shoved on some prismatics and dirty drive thrusters then took it to a cz in 3rd person. One of my most fun czs ive ever done.

This ship is so good I'm actually afraid Frontier is going to nerf it. I'll be angry if they do!

Anyway... I don't know if the aforementioned overheating bug affects everyone or not but I couldn't reproduce it. I was above the surface of Mercury and was flying madly, I steered left, right, up, down, all thrusters, boost, everything but I couldn't reach heat levels above 59%. I admit the heat level can change quite quickly on the ship but it was never dangerous. My Dolphin is outfitted with some low mass modules (in order to reach high jump range) so it's possible that an A-rated ship may overheat. I had no problems whatsoever, no matter how hard I tried to overheat it.

I was over Mercury too but my Dolphin is fully A spec with grade 5 fsd and grade 3 dirty drives which produce a bit more heat.
When rolling on you side and pitch up all the way making a sharp turn will overheat your ship, especially when increasing and decreasing the roll while turning.
It's not like your ship will cook with every turn, just watch your temps when stunting around.

Well it's definitely a bug and you will know it when it happens because it rises rediculosly fast and yes it does cook with every turn, one turn can get you to 200% if you get the bug.

D spec ship here with low emission pp and clean drives, still overheats plodding around in planets not even flying enthusiastically

But besides that, I love the ship!

I have a Grade 5 A FSD and Grade 3 clean drive tuning on the thrusters, but most of my modules are really small and D class. (I think maybe my power plant is 3A) Anyway I'm fortunate that it doesn't seem to happen to me. :) Most passenger missions take place mostly in space anyway so I rarely have to visit planet surfaces. Take care Commanders! o7
