It's really not that unreasonable if you look at it this way:

Fines are for minor infractions and enforced by barring you from access to services until you pay them off. For anything more serious they arrest you. But how do they "arrest" a pilot sitting in a buttoned-up, armored and heavily armed ship? Well, since all ships have escape pods that work 100% of the time, the answer is obvious. Crack his hull and collect the pod....

Particularly those uppity Pilot's Federation types, since those elitist blighters all have insurance anyway...

I know the real reason why they called the game Dangerous but they could've always called it Mostly Harmless as well.

I figured all the air traffic controllers were ex retail employees so any chance to get revenge on the public they take it.

How do i do ATC in the game though? That would be an awsome feature
