Now is time for Bonus Ride Collection DLC

As a relatively new player who purchased Planet Coaster 2 after the pre-order period, I'm left with a mixed impression. While the core gameplay and creative possibilities are strong, the overall experience feels significantly incomplete.
A major point of frustration is the "Bonus Rides Collection" (including the Outamax Water Coaster) that the game frequently prompts me to "buy," only to find it's a pre-order exclusive and not available for purchase. This is highly misleading and frustrating, as it implies content is missing that I simply cannot acquire.
This situation also negatively impacts the community. Downloading fantastic user-created parks from the Workshop often results in broken or unusable content because a significant portion of players (those who didn't pre-order) simply lack access to these specific rides. It fragments the community and hinders the sharing experience that is so crucial to Planet Coaster.
It's disappointing to buy what I expected to be a complete game (especially a "premium" edition) only to discover core content is locked behind a pre-order wall with no clear path to acquisition. I truly hope Frontier reconsiders this approach and makes this content available in the future, as the current situation makes the game feel unnecessarily incomplete and frustrating for many pla
yers.

i still persist on the point that this was a preorder bonus and hence should not be released to the rest of the community yet. i was also promised exclusive content for preordering it, so making it now available to everyone else leaves me with the false promise of "exclusive content" and nothing behind it.

what i do agree with is that frontier made a huge mistake in locking such important rides behind a preorder bonus. should have gone for something different but surely not rides or stalls or stuff like that...

You get it for free right, we will now pay for the Bonus rides collection DLC. You have bonus i will pay for it!

I get where you're coming from, and I genuinely understand the frustration. Having core gameplay elements like rides locked behind pre-order exclusivity was not the smartest move by Frontier — I completely agree on that point.

That said, the idea of pre-order bonuses is that they’re exclusive — it’s a reward for committing early. If Frontier suddenly sells that content to everyone, it devalues what early supporters were promised. You’re right: you’d be paying for it now, but we didn’t get it for free — we paid upfront before launch, with the expectation that this bonus would stay exclusive.

The real issue here is that Frontier chose the wrong kind of content to lock behind pre-orders. It should have been something cosmetic or less impactful — not rides that break workshop content or affect gameplay. That’s on them. But the solution shouldn't just be to take away exclusivity and leave early supporters with nothing unique in return. They need to either make it available with a suitable replacement bonus for pre-order customers, or find another fix that doesn’t fragment the community and respects early adopters.

I'm against your idea!
Like danny420 said, it's a pre order bonus. Especially in the case of PC2 it was a really expensive content compared to what we got at release while thinking we would get a good game (we all know it was...).
It's an early bird thing.

Maybe and just maybe they could start selling it when reaching the 5th or 10th anniversary (and never with discount!)...

Following is just an assumption (based on the described problem) because I never used the workshop:
The thing you're describing is that Frontier probably didn't thought about how to provide blueprints.
The workshop should only show those blueprints, of which you have purchased all necessary content.
All other blueprints should be invisible until you click a "show all" button and then they could lead you to steam to buy it...
This button shouldn't work for content which isn’t available for purchase.

New players didn't know about any pre orders. they are now stuck with a game with popups to buy a non existing DLC over and over again, and missing 3 rides. and the pre order people the smallest share apparently find that all normal

Gone is gone, tbh -> bad luck (maybe later available again)!

The problem is that the workshop is showing you those blueprints. You should want Frontier to fix this workshop issue...

you know, maybe a far fetched example but: when theres a concert in town and i only find out later when all tickets are sold out, i cant expect the artist/event venue to simply give me tickets because "i didnt know about the tickets going on sale". if you realy are into a certain franchise or game then i guess youd take the time to keep up to date with news regarding said product :)

i have to disagree with this also. downloading a full park with DLC content you dont own still allows you to view that park and explore it without any issues. it doesnt break your game, it doesnt bug out anything. it just doesnt let you save the park. so you stating that it results in "broken or unusable content" is just outright wrong...

Don't normalize something that isn't normal, a concert is gone and forgotten the next day, this game is in the prime of its life so every day there will be people who run into this problem. We need that bonus ride collection DLC, i hope Frontier wil place it for 10 -15 euro. you don't have to buy it anymore thats your bonus.

The core of point still stands: it is misleading and frustrating when the game itself actively tries to entice you to purchase content that simply isn't for sale. It creates a sense of missed opportunity and in completeness in a way that is unnecessary and annoying.

Locking down content in a game that revolves around creation and sharing, and comparing it to a short-lived event, doesn’t make sense. It actually undermines the long-term value of the product and the potential for the community. It’s an argument that completely ignores the frustration of players buying the game now.

You probably don't get the sense behind it...

To stick with the given example, you want a concert to get repeated just because you missed it and weren't able to participate at that uniqe experience.

Only waving with money won't give access to everything.

Maybe you're lucky and the concert will get repeated somewhen in a couple of years...

i realy dont know what got you so mad to make 3 posts in a row. i already stated my opinion above and like ive also already said, its ok, we have different opinions :) have a nice evening buddy

I slightly disagree with you guys. We have had the pre order bonus for over 7 months now.
If it makes Frontier some extra money and possibly brings in more players, why should we gate keep something just because "It wont feel like a bonus any more". We didnt pay extra for the pack and have had it for 7 months.

Nowhere during the pre-order did it say the bonus would only be exclusive for 7 months. I’d totally understand it becoming available years down the line, like for an anniversary or definitive edition — that’s normal. But with everything that already went wrong — the rocky release, underwhelming DLC, and quick discounts — the pre-order bonus is basically the only thing we got for supporting early. If that’s taken away too, yeah… I’d feel pretty scammed.

I just wouldnt feel ripped off etc if the pack went up for sale. Infact id be happy to know that Frontier have another avenue of revenue and that the player count could only increase. Both of these will have a knock on affect and could possibly trickle down to me in the form of longer support and maybe even content they may not have been able to afford to do without all these alternative forms of income.

then thats on frontier buddy :) thats the point i also made above, they shouldnt have put this kind of content as preorder exclusive. maybe have planned it as dlc down the road or as freebie. but frontier decided to do otherwise, hence why i preordered the game. and like ive said, im only talking about how i would feel, doesnt mean you guys have to feel the same way. we already understood that we have different opinions. im off playing the game now as i feel i just keep repeating myself while people try to deny my view on this subject

!00% agreed that content like rides etc should never have been put behind a pre order for sure. The golden chest etc from the first game and early access was a much better way of doing it for sure.

But it is what it is and we as players shouldnt demand that others not have the toys we have. Its taking your frustration out on th wrong people. The player didnt make the choices, they just want to play the game to its fullest and that is fully understandable.

If you wait long enough, you probably will see a bundle which includes it, or it being sold separately. I do not see it happen soon though.

For Planet Zoo bonus content, it was released, but it was a long time after the game was released.

I preordered the game just because of not wanting to miss those rides later!
If I would have waited to buy PC2 after release, I would had profited of the bad reviews and the very, very early PC2 sales.

I don't say that those rides never should be available for all, but it's far to early to ask for it! You guys wanting it, should have to wait for a couple of years... Then it's up to Frontier if they want to make some extra money or release it for free (I prefer the first).
