What I find fascinating is that anyone who favours CQC being removed from the main game (or given a reduced presence in it) gets insulted and denigrated.

Remove open. I don't like it, I don't use it, I will never use it. It's a completely different game from my awesome solo experience and the sheer existence of this login option is an affront to me everytime I look at the main menu.
Bad comparison,I would like the stats removed of a separate game that does nothing for my main game at all, not removal of the game altogether. Nice try tho.
Well, they could just add little buttons everywhere, so I can just hide that option to login to open.
I might click it on accident, in case I forget how much I dislike and unuse it.
Technically it wasn't a comparison, it was pure sarcasm with a little -sob- between the don't like and don't use.
In other words - they don't make this game for *you* .. or *me* .. and while suggestions to improve things are always a good thing, I just cannot wrap my head around the amount of hysteria in some demands.
I mean, are you guys serious about FD actively "mocking" or "insulting" *YOU* with this little, completely irrelevant to anything detail?

Obviously obvious, what does that have to do with seeing your CQC rank in other games? Will my Elite rank be on my Planet Coaster Ui?

Exactly! Toggles never hurt anyone especially as this is rather simple to get done and removes this argument once and for all plus it gives those that are not interested in other areas such as Exploration the option to not be bothered by the icon for it.
Of course the CQC option must remain in the main menu to make it as easy as possible for those that play it to join the Arena players for matches and it could/should be made so a CMDR sat in a station could join a match but just not let him take off until he either leaves the queue, joins a match or finishes playing a match.
Give those that want to play it as much access as possible while giving those of us who don't want to take part the chance to ignore it... So simple.

Hm. I'm just about to remove my support for this idea and revoke my statement of "hiding the unused CQC rank being a 'sensible' solution" - for the sheer fact that if this argument is removed, people will go the extra mile just to find other stuff to feel offended and insulted.
And honestly, I would prefer a "clean" and purposeful cockpit, too that just gives me info to data that's relevant to me.

Tried CQC, didn't enjoy it, would be nice to be able to remove/hide from the stats panel if possible.
My understanding is that this is a valid change request that is sitting somewhere near the bottom of FDs huge list of valid change requests. I'd certainly rather see rift cv1 support, ship names, type 2 npcs, atmospheric flight, cmdrs logs, better missions and a whole host of stuff before this trivial pandering pap. Please spend your time campaigning for a more significant feature than this.

I like my CQC rank. It makes me smile and is a lovely shade of red.

It doesn't bother me much at all hence I said if possible, but it is kinda funny that others (not you) think it is thought of as a really big deal. Panel customisation if possible in general would be a nice feature again if it is possible, but it's not that big a deal.

I don't care what they call it, my main problem is that you have to log OUT of ED and log IN to a separate game which makes CQC/Arena a different game, fine have it part of the same lore and universe but why do i have a rank for a different game inside Elite??
I'm not sure what that is so hard to understand for everyone?
However many career choices there are makes no difference, if there was a mining one mine would also be at 0% but that wouldn't bother me in the slightest because it's a part of the game that I choose not to participate in but CQV is NOT.
CQC is a separate game, all they have to do is make it accessible via a station terminal from within ED and all my objections vanish, it becomes a part of the game I can choose to use or not.
Currently the CQC ranking on my HUD simply comes across as if FD are putting adverts for a different game into one I paid for, to me, it says,
"Pleeeeease come and play this arena combat game we made, go oooon it's good honest"
For the ranking to deserve a place in the game, its should be available to play from within the game.
I am expecting to see a Planet Coaster ranking appear next.
