What we really need is an Xbox Discord app.
A great system update arrived on Xbox One today. If you download an app called "Cast" - you can now listen to podcasts while playing Elite Dangerous. This is a great update on the system and makes Elite Dangerous more enjoyable to play
Still a fail... original Xbox & 360's were able to copy CD's to HDD for background listening purposes. I'd rather not stream something when I already have a CD of the music I want to listen to especially since I have a monthly data cap.
Apparently the Groove app is getting background music upgrade on a later date. You can then listen to your own music by putting the tracks into Onedrive. But yes it sucks that you cannot listen straight out of a CD.

I couldn't even find half the CDs I installed on my Pro 360 in 2006 when I picked up my Gears of War slim console in 2012 and all my music was on my iPod. So it's in no way a fail for me. I'll use Pandora until support for Iheartradio is available, then I won't need to worry about my phones battery life while streaming music and playing.
The video on the dashboard shows it in action and how it works, I'm guessing they're maybe still ironing it out in the preview program. Shame it didn't go public with the update but hopefully soon, already got a Clint Mansell station saved for my voyages lol
Pandora's updated app hasn't been released to the public yet. You're way too dense for me to keep replying to your crying, so I'll just leave it at that.
Just because other people's comments are counter to your position doesn't make it crying! Don't expect everyone to jump on your fan-boy bandwagon when we have valid concerns. Educate yourself, a new Pandora app won't fix this issue for Canadians:

Yes, you can listen to Lave Radio while playing Elite on the Cast app as well!

Kidding... I never figured out why exactly Canada/Mexico would be excluded from such updates (at least for the time being) since, you know, they are right there.
Pandora and Cast are the only programs supporting this feature right now, but Groove should get this feature soon (you can subscribe, or listen to your own mp3s via Onedrive). Spotify has a contract with Sony so Xbox is not getting it at least for a while.

Yes, but it doesn't support "Background Music". You cannot listen while you are playing Elite - except in the Snap mode.
Have you updated your Xbox One to the new update that was released yesterday? After you update - go to the store and search for an app called "Cast"
If you're asking about the CD app, I installed it from the apps store. it's called Audio CD player.
