So I played the game from release on PS4, and recently got back into it on PC. Worked up and got me a fighter bay installed on my Anaconda, all pumped to be back up to the Conda. Goto a station and see the ty percentage "profit" takes on NPC pilots. Why is this still a thing? They should have a weekly upkeep like the Carriers not take millions for sitting in my ship while I mine up millions of credits worth of minerals. As they take a Percentage of your INCOME your damn INCOME not PROFIT advertise it correctly Frontier. More over just fix the ty system you have the copy paste resources from your carriers to make it a weekly upkeep.
Sorry for the rant, but jesus it was such a stupid system to take a percentage of your income making profitable trading no longer profitable. An example of this:
You buy some resource for 1000 Credits, okay small fry stuff but newer players buying up loads up of stock to make more profits in their keelback. They make their way to another station and see it selling for 1100 for example. They sell it off and for each one instead of making 100 profit like they should. Their fighter pilot is taking say the 9%.
9% of 1100 is 99. So total profit is 1 credit per 1 ton.
Now if it was actually PROFIT like it's advertised.... Then the profit would 91 per 1 ton. As the pilot would be taking from the 100 credit profit.
Let's now put this into scales you older players will understand.
Mine up some Low Temp Diamonds. Plan on selling it off for 450k that you found on inara. You are in a decent ship have 2 fighters, you aren't no cheap skate so you have 2 expert pilots at 12% "profit" taking.
So now you go into sell off these diamonds.
12% of 450k is 54k okay not a huge loss. Now we add the second pilot. 54k + 54k is 108k. So 450k - 108k is 342k per one instead of the 450k and the reality is those fighters were just doing nothing.
Now profit losses.
You sold off 300 Low temp diamonds okay, you slaved like an imperial in those rings for hours. Expecting a big pay out. 300 x 450k = 135,000,000. Now comes in the pilots to claim their share, 24% taken that's 32,400,000.
You just lost 32.4 Mill for having 2 pilots there doing nothing since the pirates came in scanned you when you before you started mining and then ed off since they never scanned you again.
Now imagine if you didn't have to mindlessly give them money for them doing nothing since yanno... They should Employees not your Partners. So you pay them a weekly wage say 250k per week for the expert pilot. That would be nice, and even if you had to pay them more for each kill they help in getting and even pay extra for getting into engagements I would be fine with and understand (Even tho they literally signed up to get into engagements but whatever it's Frontier Devs...). Fix this system please and make it actually useable. I would quite like to be able to roam around with 2 fighter pilots and not have to pay through the nose to support them.
