Nuclear deterrence

Let me guess a new wave of kamikaze attack. Instead of ramming ship you self destruct and they all go Boom.

You also have to remember a Wing of 5 will have the same ability. So instead of helping your self you are making it harder for you to win.

You only want deterrence against things you want to stop. There is no reason for Frontier to want to stop PvP - it's a part of the game and pirate players and factions breathe life into the universe. You don't want to fall victim to these guys, learn how to avoid them or fend them off. The solution is not to discourage piracy in the first place, this isn't real life but a game. I get sleepy just trying to imagine this universe where nobody attacks traders because there is deterrence in place. And to be clear, I'm not a pirate and I'm not defending myself here. The idea is just bad. Move on :)

I actually think it's really hard to get ganked in ED.
First challenge for being victim is finding a wing to attack you.
Second challenge is putting yourself in a position to be interdicted.
Third is failing an interdiction.
If you have any combat sense, you'll know to submit.
So your FSD cooldown is normal.
The final challenge is jumping to hyperspace, no one can stop you.
If they're all running rail-de-lances, they can't target Subsystems, so just shake and boost about while charging your FSD for hyperspace, then turn and go.
It works 99% of the time.
Unless you've decided to take an unshielded T9, to Everate for a cargo run, you're likely to survive.
No 'deterrent' necessary.

On an unrelated note. It's snowing! Yay! Lol

Exactly. Seems people want to run their cargo in straight lines without any risk involved. Thankfully Frontier hasn't introduced proposed modules nor are they likely to, even after similar ones were present in previous games. Multiplayer is a completely different beast to balance.
