Finally willing to invest in a crewmember stealing 2-10% of my income for the rest of the game; I've been sifting through crew trying to determine the number of voice options I have. The credits list seven voice actors under "crew voices"- four guys, three gals- but I have yet to find more than four: an american sounding woman, british woman, american man, british man (the brits seem to have a much, much lower spawn rate for some reason). Any idea if there are more? Am I just a nut wasting her time on a fictional character?

Am I really the only person who cares this much about such a trivial detail?
It matters to me. If I don't like their voice, I don't want to be stuck with them for the rest of the life of my ship.
I prefer the female ones - the spicy American girl who has that "let's go get'em" voice helps keep me alert [heart]

Anytime I actually plan to employ that NPC, I have to go to the Audio Menu and Mute "Non-player Voice Audio".
Otherwise, hearing for the 152th time "We got outselves a high-ranked Target, CMDR! We gotta fight smart." would have long driven me absolutely insane.
If it wasn't for that Mute Audio Option (which also removes the Text Spam completely littering the Comms Inbox), I would have fired my last remaining NPC otherwise. That nonsensical Message spam is absolutely unbearable.
Plus, it also happens all while
- Crew NPC is ranked ELITE
- I'm ranked ELITE
- we're running a fully Grade 5 modded heavy Combat rig
... and the Target is some lowlife Eagle
Sense... It makes none. I guess that's why we have it that way. It's ELITE after all

Definitely are brit counterparts, thoigh the spawn rate is much lower- maybe 1 in 10 or so.

I have only found two, American and British accents. It took me absolutely forever to find a British crew member. I wish we had the all the station voices available to us.
There are at least 3 female voices: one somewhat dull UK girl, one somewhat obnoxious US girl, and one decent US girl. It'd be nice to be able to tell what voice they have before I hire them. The two cute ones I use have the obnoxious voice, and the one with the decent voice got ugly-ified by 2.3.
I agree... voice audition would be great. I did a lot of hiring and firing tonight.
If it's a bloke they could keep asking if you've been fiddling with the thermostat again or asking if you saw the game last night. I should then be able to reply "look, Steve, I hate football. You know this. We do this every day. Go and sit in the hold and think about your life choices."
I've been hiring and firing harmless crew members for the better part of 2 hours looking for that nice southern accent on a decent looking female. all the expert ones I used to hire that looked like bulldogs had it but I can NOT find one thats harmeless and looks even halfway decent.

well I finally found a nice looking and sounding british one but dammit I want that southern voicepack! WHY CAN'T I CHANGE THIS LIKE MY COVAS VOICE.
Do you know how mad I'm going to be if I log back in after trying to find that southern accent and the voice is different? I underestimated last time. I've been at this for a bit less than 4 hours now.
