Nvidia hire FDev to pushing 40 series?!!...

So. almost 1.5 years of Odyssey.
With still garbage perfomance and without DLSS which could help with it.

After Nvidia preview their new 40 seris GPU with DLSS 3 magic I'm starting to understand...
What if... FDev wont add DLSS now because Nvidia hire them for add DLSS 3 later which forcing Elite players to buy new gpu if they want play smooth?!?!?!?
Would be ironic if it's true.

Neither FDev nor-NVIDIA is going to go through the effort of integrating DLSS 3 into this game for the five extra sales they'd get out of it.

Anyway, as with other bolt on methods to decrease rasterization workload, I'd vastly prefer if the game's underlying performance issues were address first, so that upscaling, or frame interpolation, or magic mushrooms, or whatever, aren't used as a crutch to conceal problems that will come back to haunt the game's performance or visuals later.

Nothing against DLSS itself, other than it's proprietary nature, but Odyssey most certainly should not need it and knowing that FDev tends to turn stopgaps into permanent solutions, I'm not eager for this one.

Which would only work for a subset of the player-base - whereas FSR works for many more of us.

FSR, or XeSS, are more hardware agnostic, but the same fundamental concerns remain. If FSR 'solves' the game's performance issues, it may well do so by closing off better optimizations paths.

I know.... but then, I'm all electric here anyway - Winter is always fun...

My furnace is gas and natural gas prices have doubled here over the last year, but I still have $0.11 per kW/h hydroelectric. It's starting to get pretty close in cost between furnace and just running more computers harder.

Heaters or heatpump? I heared about Co-efficient of performance..

I assume Nvidia has a COP of one

Any collection of ICs is a COP of one, just like any other pure electric heater that isn't a heat exchanger.

i didn't know people had overloaded CPU to be honest, mine doesn't go about 25% when in space i get 10%
GPU on the other hand is battered, my poor 2080ti is certainly working its little heart out when on foot or in stations in a ship
