NVIDIA TITAN Xp(new!) - 3840 cores

So this begs me to ask, can this handle ramping up the SS to max setting and HMD to max setting and still deliver 'ultra' in most other things AND still have enough left in the bag to deliver 90Fps?

or

Do we have to wait for the 1090 Ti-Titan-Xp Extreme-OC-ROG-STIX-'Thingy i've got more power than you' Graphics card?

Come on you guys Tell ME NOW!!!

Well heck ... I just may buy TWO of those puppies .... NOT ..... LOL even a divorce in MY favor wouldn't cover that ....

Enjoy those TXp's!

I just sent back a 1080Ti that Newegg messed up - think I might indulge in one of these myself :D

No SLI for me though.

Think nvidia made this a "deeplearning card" and not focused on gaming.

nvidias marketing is allover the place with this and they are not pleasing the people that allready spend money on a titan Xp (with a small p instead of a big P)

NICE, Jealous, Me???? No, yes!

Enjoy!
Ever had a referance cooler? :p

cause then you wont be jelly about it.

If I were him, I'd put them both under water with a nice EK full cover water blocks, since money obviously isn't an issue, but in return he'd get less noise and the best cooling solution on the market.
That is, of course, if he already has a pump, reservoir, radiator, vents and tubes.

No. I suspect this will just be a smidge faster than the 1080ti, not really outside the realm of where an oc 1080ti would reach, and most likely just a fully unlocked Pascal GP102 with clocks to match the 1080ti version.
Remember, the titan is not a gamer card. It's a reasonably priced workstation card that can game.
for those who doesn't or do not really need one of the massively overpriced $10k quadro's.

As for maxing graphics in ED to ultra, turn off ASW, and still get 90, well could depend what you consider ss to max is.
If that is around 2x I doubt it, this is just the iteration on Pascal and not a 'new' gpu.
If they keep it up, maybe the next brand new gpu architecture (Volta) , hopefully to be launched mid/late 2018 or early 2019.
Will be able to get there.

But honestly, with the gp102 based (the top range pascal) gpu's the ball is in frontiers court.
If they for instance would implement SMP for vr and multidisplays the benefit of that alone would be huge.

But it might just as well also mean they need to go dx12.
For people on previous maxwell boards, that could be a hard pill to accept.
Personally I don't think it could happen fast enough.

Time for 4k wrap-around VR?
Hard to justify that when they can't do solid 90FPS on 2160 x 1200 today.

Jay has a few things to say avout the new card. As a Titan XP owner for only a few months, I agree.

Im sorry.
But how is this really surprising?

Yeah its kind of poor manners and capitalist stuff.
Nothing new here.
My 980ti was as good, and in some games better than the slightly older maxwell titan x.

And if they hadn't refreshed the Pascal titan x now after the release of the 1080ti.
Who in their right mental state would have bought one?

I didn't buy a 1080 because i didnt consider the performance leap big enough.
I didn't buy a Pascal titan x because of its almost comical price.
And I KNEW a 1080ti would come out.

We all know it's basically an annual model cycle for these things.
I am very tempted to get either the rog strix 1080ti or aorus extreme.
But if didn't have vr, I would still be perfectly happy with the 980ti.

I for instance bought a panasonic dx900 around blackfriday.
Not because I didn't expect panasonic or all tv manufacturers to not release a replacement at CES in January (and they did, I'm not bothering)

If at all possible, I would like to wait for the volta ti, that by just extrapolating from the past, should come sometime in late 2018, or early 2019.
2017 will just see a refreshing of Pascal with slightly higher clocks, faster memory etc.
Generally small clock increments, and ano adjustment in price.
A relatively small upgrade from current Pascal.
In fact current 1080ti and now Pascal titan Xp is most likely the first wave of these.

Oh and am I supposed to know who Terry Crews is?

Ah, that guy from Brooklyn nine-nine.

It's the same with all kinds of kit - you purchase the greatest whizzbang and then five minutes later a better doodah comes out.

There's really no "best time" to buy hardware, as something will inevitably happen to render existing kit obsolete, or if you wait too long the shiniest thingiewotsit isn't compatible with your ancient relic of a platform from 9 months ago :(

I'm done chasing tech. I buy the best I can afford at the time and then use it for about 5 generations before even thinking about upgrading again. Seems to be working for what I do, so I'm happy.
