Yeh, I have a 970 spare now I upgraded. I was trying to think of something to do in-game so I can give it away
While a 1080 is a nice upgrade, and is much better than a 980... IMHO, a 980 isn't old enough to warrant upgrading, as it's simply 1 generation behind.
This is entirely from a poor person perspective, who's still using a 2010 model graphics card because "it works".
What resolution and refresh rate is your monitor?
If it's 1080p/60hz you'll likely not notice a any difference.

Resolution is 2560x1440 at 60Hz which is what I play ED at.
