650 here... Maybe I should ask the community to donate the 50k my local council has re-approriated for my immigrant centre...
Perhaps you should ask your councillors to buy you another GFX card out of the 'Budget' they pay themselves with?
Thank you so much everyone for all of your help it has been totally amazing! I have just updated the video description with the following details - but also wanted to post that same text here. This is such a wonderful community, and everyone is so awesome! Also I understand where people are coming from who didn't support my request, I won't dwell on those points though other than to say, YouTuber's really don't make very much money...and whilst I also run my own business, the budget has been very, very tight. Once again, my thanks to everyone and it's great to see that so many people understand that my videos are driven by an immense passion for both the game and the community.

Wow! Well what can I say!? I went to bed last night with enough for a GPU and part of a new PC, and as of now I have enough to replace the whole setup! Thank you so, so much - the support has been overwhelming, and has left me at a loss for words. I want to thank each and everyone of you for all the help, offers, donations and kind words.
Making this video was very difficult for me, as I am not one to ask for money - or in fact ask for anything. I do have a little tiny PayPal donate link at the top of my channel, but I have never once pointed it out, or asked for money. However on this occasion though I was faced with the situation of having to stop producing videos for the foreseeable future. Now that is no longer the case - and I will be back up and running very fast. As I mentioned yesterday, I have a bit of footage left that I was recording over the weekend, and I will be able to use that to make a video for later this week. I also have stock footage for info videos. All of those I will be putting together on my laptop, which isn't that suited to the task (and certainly no where near capable of capturing game footage). With the new PC I will be back to video production before the end of the week I hope.
I have now removed the donation link from this video. I will be uploading a video later today, just to express my thanks! Once again, thank you everyone for all of your help! You are all wonderful!

That was my saving grace a couple of years ago when my laptop decided to melt.
And why do people get so sniffy about youtubers asking for donations? He's a prominent member of this community, he's always constructive and pleasant, and needs a hand from us. I think it reflects well on our group that he feels comfortable enough to ask.

Plus, he is also a representative of the comunity here, as his voice is way better heard among the devs, than 1k of our regular users' voices combined. The reasons behind this fact are obvious and one need to only take a brief peek at the quality of OBSIDIAN ANT's videos and their exceptional and adult narration to understand.
If there would be a way to thank this amazing contributor to our community for all the work he has done so far, what way would be better, than to help him out when he lost his tools, eh?!

Got to be honest here I'm very impressed with the forum community with it's genuine appreciation and generosity to someone who contributes a lot to the community with his excellent videos.
It's nice when others help with true altruism.
Sort of restores the faith a bit, which to be honest has taken a bit of a knock of late.
This is a fantastic community, one I'm proud to be a small part of.
I'll look forward to OAs next video.

He asked for help. Many including myself sent it. Those who are making negative comments need to remember OA did not start this thread, he asked for donations on his You Tube channel someone else posted the link and the topic or I would never have seen it in time to help.

So honestly if you don't like it, don't contribute which is no longer an option. So why even worry about it. OA didn't come to the forum to ask for help, others did it. So basically stop complaining about something that actually should be something people can point to with pride and say. Look what the community did to another player who promotes the game is such an entertaining and visibly stunning way.

Be careful what you ask for OA. Before you know it people are going to be angry at you for not delivering content according to their schedule. Whether you like it or not, by asking for and taking donations you have become a slave to the fanatical masses.
I don't think he had much choice. Ant's one of the few channels I'm subscribed to, so I don't begrudge him a penny and I'd have gladly helped him out if I were in a better position to do so.
Actually, now I come to mention it, if anyone out there would like to help with me helping Obsidian Ant out...
