Why not post a link to the vid in question rather than just moaning.

I wouldnt call it moaning , everything in the OP is valid criticism on a heavily promoted feature that ultimately is a wet blanket.

This exactly, Due to "You" have to go find them (Boring USS system) you can completely ignore the Thargoid invasion. I truly miss the old Elite where Thargoids would jump you often when system jumping and so on, It gave you that "Hope we make it" feeling every time you jumped etc. Yes on super rare occasions you might get Hyper-dicted in Elite: Dangerous, I have had it happen once in over 30000 jumps, but even that is lack luster, wait it out... Scans you and moves on. Where is the "OMG feeling, I am going to die!" feeling from the Thargoids, there is no fear factor from them at all and I wish there was, Elite needs it desperately.

I'm not flying defenceless with AX weapons while flying around the bubble.
Since I can ignore the Thargoids I pack the usual weapons and carry on playing.

With how normal gear and AX gear are separated, and me not being interested in AX interaction, Thargoids opposing themselves upon me would destroy my play style and ultimately force me to take a break.

This is the real issue, not only is the Thargoid war totally optional, it's also gated off if you don't have the required weapons, similiar to how scenario's are gated off if you don't have space for the million or so limpet controllers needed.
It's a pay to play game without even having the options to pay real money for the desired items (limpets & AX weapons).
