Well you don't actually need to just mine Void Opals.

Supposedly, there are many other new and old commodities available in the Deep Core roids. Though with typical FD "balancing", they've built it so that there's one thing that makes ridiculously more than every other activity. Why would someone bother to mine deep core roids for platinum when they pay less than 1/10th of void opals? Or even worse bertrandite paying 1/100th of void opals.

Benitoite is still quite good, paying at over 1 million. Low temp diamonds were up there but last I checked have come down considerably. Void Opals are king but tbf, so far as I’m aware one can earn at a faster rate with passenger missions still so at least this is an alternative to that. Either way, not sure why all the Vitriol for an OA vid. The guy is one of the most reasonable and polished you tubers I’ve ever seen and I quite like his balanced approach to the topics he covers.

In the meantime just ram the asteroid parts with your ship. The will drift away a bit, just enough to release the stuck core deposits.

I’ll try that with my Phantom but the Cobra4 doesn’t have enough shielding for such shenanigans! Thanks for the tip though. It is appreciated.

I'm glad they are, so I can use whatever ship I'd prefer to use for mining, rather than just an Asp Explorer.

Such a strange way of looking at things. Nothing is stopping you from using the other ships.
