OCC: Writers Block

It is certainly the best way to proofread anything. One good tip on proofreading I got from a course, is to read paragraphs out of order. If you get caught up in your story, or content of a document, you can easily miss mistakes. Also, it's always easier to proofread someone else's document than your own.

For me it's basically writing when I have the time and the mood. So mostly somewhen around 1 am when I'm too hyper to sleep xD
Against a writing block I'm usually running around in my room trying to react the blocked scene.
May seem a bit weird, but works for me :D

Dat quote ... I like it. :D

That explains why I keep pooping my pants.

More seriously, just relax and let it happen. At the very least, don't feel like we're pressuring you. We're a pretty patient bunch.

Thankies :D

But trust me it's a pretty embarrassing sight when your mom catches you as a (almost) 21 year old jumping up and down in your room around 1-2 am :D

In fairness, of all the things for your mom to catch you doing in your room at 1 am...

Matt thinks back and remembers All The Things....

It's funny this has come up because when I was a teenager I had a pet tarantula for a time and I once came home and found that it was missing from its terrarium, and suddenly every article of clothing tossed around on my floor became its own separate horror story.

And this memory is going to play a part in something I'm writing soon. :D

Can't wait to read it!

...though my memories were more in the direction of how lousy I sometimes was at smuggling female-shaped human cargo to and from my room at odd hours. I don't want to get into details, but....

Just a few more steps to the front door, and then it's into my car and we'll be in the clear.

"Matt? Is that you?"

Scan detected.

"Uh, yeah. Just... Uh... Getting a snack!"

Lights flip on.

"And just who is this?"

Illicit Cargo.

"Uh... Mom... this is Jessica. Jessica, this is Mom."

Wanted. System Authorities responding.

Good times. I regret nothing.

When I get home you are getting rep for this. I love you man.

I'm sorry to read about your block Momoka. I have been writing a role play story on my Blog and sometimes either the story isn't ready or there are other more pressing things to post about. However, one of the things I find help me with my story writing is those breaks where I post about something else. Perhaps I will share some photographs, pen some poetry, write about something real in the game (a review of the Cobra IV in my case). All of these things I find allow the story time to grow and currently I'm just about ready for the next post in the sequence and there are probably 2 more gelled and ready for writing too. The message is - Don't force it. Distract yourself with other things and your story will grow in the back of your mind. At least, that's how it works for me. Hope you can get back in the flow soon :)

Whenever I hit a writer's block, first thing I do is park the thing for a few days. A week. Couple of weeks even. After a few days/couple of weeks - whenever I'm in a mood really - I read a short story or watch a movie (or a few, both for stories and movies) with a similar atmosphere/feel that my piece.

In short - have a break and seek some inspiration. The writing will come back naturally. Or at least that's what usually happens to me :)

I'm sadly still fighting with Writers Block at the moment. I did manage to get out a short burst of the story there but it never really went away for me. The advice given so far has helped and it's mostly why I was able to get out those couple parts before my brain locked down again.

I think I might need a longer break than I thought. Which is kinda sad cause some of you might have noticed where the plot of my RP is has reached by now

It's better to make a break and enjoy writing, then to force yourself to write something you don't like ^^ I have a little blockade myself at the moment, so you're not the only one dealing with those problems :)

I'll add my voice to Cerinian and Becks. No need to write to satisfy us. :)

I haven't added to my stories for about a week either, so it's a dry spell all around.
