Persistent POI crash sites appear in the DSS, when you zoom at a planet. They are pointed out as a warning on the top right screen, as (#)OTHER. If you go to that planet and scan it with the probes, you'll be able to pin-point the location. It doesn't appear in the nav panel, you'll have to point the ship at it and press target button. If the planet has more sites, like geological or biological, you'll have to search around for a bit. These POIs always appear as "Crash Site".

I'm having the hardest time finding this Escape Pod... The planet has a Mission-Related Signal called Supply Cache, but I've scoured the area (by ship) repeatedly and not finding anything!! Do I have to use an SRV or collector limpit? The mission didn't say anything about required equipment.

Yes you need the SRV to collect surface rescue / salvage. (The mission description should have said this.)

That is assuming you necro'd this 2 year old thread for a mission.

Thank you for responding to the old thread It was an emailed impromptu mission, and I figured they would have said SRV-required. I figured wrong. Lol
