Oculus touch random control issues

:S So i just got the Oculus rift touch and elite looks amazing, however I am just sitting at the mission board and the maps randomly open and shields get turned off. Landing gear will go up or down by itself when docking, and throttle will turn down to zero when using FSD, anyone know what the issue is? I use a x-56 Hotas system and disabled Voice Attack to isolate it to the Oculus and the game. I also disabled the GUI interface in graphics area to see if that would help, it hasn't. Thanks for any input

Its a well known Saitek issue. Happened with the x55s too. As per my other reply to you:

"Thats Saitek for you. You might want to connect your x56 to a powered USB hub to resolve the problem... that or return it before it falls apart.... "

The falling apart thing I'm dead serious about, your hats will stop clicking then other bits will stop working entirely. My old x55 is with a friend, he had to replace the trigger switch a couple of weeks ago. It wont be the last part he has to source i'm sure.

this x56 was my replacement from my x55 which had a bad order pot in the stick/twist the x56 was given to me by a logitek service guy because it was under warranty. I understand they are junk but will try the powered USB port, luckily I have one. Thanks man didn't think of trying that

I had similar issues back in the times, when i used an X-55. The solution was to use a powered USB Hub for it, as the X series is quite power hungry and the ghost inputs occur when it is underpowered, just as CylonSurxer said. Check, if the lights flicker from time to time. That is a certain sign.

Ok I deleted all versions of elite and only used one of each version at one time, the frontier version the steam vr version and the oculus version while the Hotas is on a seperate powered 3.0 USB hub. I set defaults to x56 instead of my old "custom" which was a combo of keyboard and x56. I was able to fly one mission today then it started acting up. It only acts up upon approaching a base ,planet ,or a docking pad. Then the maps come up shields power down, landing gear goes up if I'm trying to land and cargo scoop deploys. So all in all same issue. I opened a ticket, no telling if they will be able to help. It's the worst when flying through the opening of a space port and the map flies open, or landing with no gear or the engines suddenly reverse themselves with no shields. When I did the frontier download I could not find the HMD setting in the graphics options. Thanks in advance for any input... Cmd Ssyx

Have you tried putting the throttle on the powered hub and your stick on a different USB bus? I.e Powered hub plugged into USB 3.0 and stick plugged into USB 2.0.

Whenever my X55 played up it was nearly always in stations and pretty much as you described... Odd I agree. I'm pretty sure you are seeing the power issue so hopefully switching some ports around will fix it. Also check Windows Device Manager and Control Panel > Power Options to ensure no power saving options are enabled for your USB devices. Perhaps Windows 10 is 'power managing' your HOTAS causing the low power and in turn button ghosting after a certain amount of time.

I will certainly give that a shot! And "ghosting" hit the nail on the head! That's exactly what it's doing. I read on the review site for X56 that bad wiring or looses wiring may be a culprit too. I certainly hope not. Whatever it is seems to be only on the throttle end of the hotas. The weirdest thing is, I actually like the default layout for x56 better then my old set up. So there is a silver lining to the . The only thing that dismisses loose or bad wiring is it was working fine up until I got the Oculus Touch.

Do you have the both parts of the HOTAS connected to the same USB headers that one (or more) of your sensors are connected to? You may find that the addition of the extra sensor to your system is causing the power issue, both devices have high USB usage.

Ok I have the throttle in the powered USB and the flight stick plugged into the motherboard, so far so good no ghosting so it appears you were right all along with the motherboard not having enough juice going to all the other things I had plugged in and the powered USB adapter was also full and didn't supply enough power. I certainly thank you for you're help friend! Like I said no issues thus far. So now I'm as excited as a bus load of tards going to the zoo for the first time! Thanks man I appreciate ya!
