That thing in fighters that Fdev did that was very popular for a time but was essentially abandoned by them, and is now populated by around 30ish near godlike players and the occasional new player they turn into fresh ground chuck for Kuhmo burgers.

So my plan to eventually try CQC after I reach triple elite is.... not good?

It's perfectly sound plan, and likely great fun. As long as you accept that, for at least a little while, you will be swimming in the deep end of the pool filled with your own blood and several hungry sharks.
